    My R3E is RMA!!!

With the SATA 6G Marvell controller recently going TANGO UNIFORM on my R3E, I desperately wanted to RMA this poor 'ole boy. I was afraid because I had heard that sometimes dealing with ASUS could be a nightmare.

Thankfully, when I bought my R3E board, I got the VIP membership. I guess the perks of buying $400 motherboard.

I should have the new board cross-shipped from Fremont, CA real soon. I was told by the wide-eyed gent, Mark, that the new boards have a far better Marvell controller onboard. I do hope so ... I don't like being without for very long ...

to ASUS though, very nice guy, that Mark. And the process so far has not been what I imagined it to be. Whoo!

Not using sidebar either, don't like it. Just run AIDA64 and use OSD.

No proble, you're welcome. Looking forward to your second run.

Yeah, I know, but it's still about 3/4 of my monthly paycheck. Low standard here.

You mean QPI LLC, right? It is load line calibration for VTT (QPI/DRAM) voltage and you should enable it, cause it sets voltage just right as you set in BIOS, no vdroop.

They finally added QPI PLL?!?! I was asking for that for sooooooo long

I ended up selling mine and picking up a UD9 because the RIIIE just couldn't push BCLK at all without slowmode. QPI PLL will help that.

Donmarkoni is right - enable the Line load calibration to full you won't get too far overclocking without it. The vdroop will make the whole process pretty frustrating.

You should also set the LL SW on the motherboard to get hardware load line calibration.

EATX12V_1 is the first to plug, then EATX12V_2, if your PSU has two of those plugs.
EZPLUG_1 and EZPLUG_2 are optional, if you are running two, three, or four graphic cards.

    I would.
Although, some people reported having problems with two plugs connected. I have 8+4 connected and running fine from the first day.

Has anyone noticed that their CPU tempertures are not showing up in CPU-Z hardware (V1.17.0 Driver version 135)? Mine did at one time. AThe temp sensors must be fine because all cores show up in Real Temp GT 3.60

I also have the 8 and 4 connected with plenty of power. Ca ot running multiple vid cards yet - sot the PCI-E is not loaded. Eventually I'll get to 4 580s in SLI.

I downloaded the latest hwmonitor free and it seems to show 6 cores. Some of the voltages seem to be mislabeled though. No Idea what it thinks CPU PLL is, but IOH PCIE +1.5V is probably CPU PLL.

I've never had something read my GTX275 VIN's before, I wonder why they're running at different voltages. Both are EVGA GTX275 Superclocked, and they don't throttle down either(I use evga precision to force them to full speed all the time).

Hi all my new R3X just arrived and i have some very first questions.

1.About the fan controlling , i noticed that all FAN headers are 4pin, my HAF-X's fans and my NH-D14's fans are all 3 pin , so how can i let the motherboard automatically adjust the fan speed according to temps (Q-FAN) ????

Is there a way through bios to change the way the mobo controls the fans (instead of PWM to switch to classic 3pin control process?)

Otherwise the only way is a fan controller or maybe adapters 4pinPWM to 3pin?

    2. I also would like to know which bios is the best for i7 OC. I always download the latest official version but if your experience is different ..be my guest

I'm running BIOS 0095 with a 980X. THe BIOS work very well so far. If you are running a 980X recommend staying away from 1102 (production). I have some issues with it reportingthe CPU temp incorrectly. Production 1005 were good though.
