Stability is in the eye of the beholder

I hear what you are saying but even with SP1/AVX I think we will still be stable with either more vcore or less speed......

SP1 is still @ RC so LinX is what it is until SP1 is officially out, your comment appreciated as it is basically condemns the likes of my old E8500 prime stable results as unstable just because LinX came out & it wouldn’t run at Prime voltage........ but it still ran with more vcore.

I'm not having a go just making a comment

LOL I'm not going to open that old stability can of worms, stable is whatever you are happy with. I run & show Linx as its what most people consider stable atm thats all, If the rules changes I change

That's a great vCore for a good 24/7 OC, but low volt, low heat, low cost is what makes it a real Supreme platform.

Try bench it with 3dmark Vantage, 3dmark11 and 3dMark 2006, then play some hi end games like metro 2033 without bluescreens, then u can consider it as stable.

Another thing is vcore wich is for normal use a bit to high.

    Wink

now sure how good the cpu is , it is a 040

1.5v was needed in order to run application . 1.45 @ 5 ghz result in lock up .

Also i have Asus P67 pro motherboard with 1004 bios . i was unable to get over 4.6 ghz no matter at what voltage . note 4.5 GHz is fine with 1.25v , i update the bios to the latest beta and enabled CPU PLL over-voltage then welcome 5 GHZ

Under water , do not make sense to overclock this processor with stock cooler (load 68c)
2600K working in 4.8 GHZ so far

    2600k @(4600 Ghz) 1.42v : (under water)
    Asus B2 mobo
    4 GiG DDR 2400 MHZ
    GTX 570 @ 1.063v ( 910/1820/2001 Mhz) .(under water).
    1020 W PSU

well, what is full stability? i don't know. but, prime 26,4 beta stresses the sandy more than LinX with avx 64bit, so far i read all over the boards and my own experience. i need 1.39 for 5g with linx with avx 64bit. prime 26,4 custom needs 1,42 to be stable.

    Looking forward to your results.

I got UD5 and 2600K but every now and then when i shut down and want to boot up later on, it says the clocks have failed but the system is rock solid at Prime95 for hours... So annoying.
