    4800 @ 1.325

    5000 @ 1.380. Internal PLL Overvoltage - enabled

Edit. Same batch as flopper: http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/...8&postcount=89

Not sure if this is offtopic.. It's regarding batches so I hope it's okay to discuss it here.
A batch is arround 300 cpu's right? I've heard that cpu's near the edge of a wafer are usually worse (oc/speed-wise). Are they speedbinned by where they're from on the wafer, or simply each wafer goes to make the same rated cpu? If so, then why go for the same batch as others? If 200 ppl posted good results with batch XX, there must be 100 "bad" cpus left..

((Disregard. Cant get 5ghz :-( Tried 1.350-1.375v, freezes same spot at Windows loadscreen. Any tips on voltage settings? VCCSA, VCCIO, CPU PLL, PCH? Internal PLL voltage?))

Nice chip/batch!... some of the L040BXXX are looking really good.
Ryzen 9 on the test bench... Sometimes older generation/tech as well.

I have the P8P67 Pro. How hard is it to overclock since I've been out of the game for a while? And what's the stock volts on the cpu? I won't know until tomorrow when I put everything together.
Well at the stock x33 multiplier in cinebench my volts are 1.208v.

Overclocking I am only able to do with the Asus AI Suite II. For some reason this new efi bios stuff has me confused. I will change the multiplier but it will not let me keep the change and instantly revert back to a lower number. I like the old fashioned bios i guess.

Yeah I had trouble with this new bois as well. You have to change the multi in Advanced/Cpu Power Management/Cpu Ratio. Make sure you leave Turbo Mode enabled. I have to save a couple of times to get it to save but it does work.

Mypgb4died, are you ocing the cpu multiplier or the turbo multiplier? Try setting it to "By per core (no oc in SO)"

The number of cpus in a batch depends based on die size and yield. Typical yields on a new process is around 40-50%, so assuming there are 200 dies per wafer (this is rather optimistic, considering how large the die is) you can only expect 80-100 dies to just pass the test program. Speed binning is done by how fast the processor will pass the test program plus a certain guard band (yes, they overclock your processor before it even leaves the factory), although it does typically correlate to center dies being faster and edge dies being slower. It's all dependent on any process shifts that may have occurred during production, hence why certain batches are faster than others because some may have been made leakier than others.

I was doing it anywhere i could.

Makes no difference. Went back to micro center and exchanged the asus p8p67 for an MSI P67A-GD55 because the asus does not do sli even though they said it did. Was also having some reboot issues when it would try to post. Got a new cpu also in the deal. Still in the L040B batch but a 671 instead of an 800. Will get everything up and running and see about the differences for OC.

If you don't have time, say it, then maybe somebody else (one who is following this thread, and got a post on the first page), can make a good list of all documented results.

But until then, a question for you guys who have been following, what's the best 2006k batch# to look for?
I am sorry that I will not be able to make a list. I know it's a weak excuse, but I really don't have time to do it.

That's OK, no biggy. It's good to know, then maybe we can get somebody else to volunteer for the fun

K I'll put up a list, as I did it too with the Wolfdales BUT

    1) I need more proof then just saying that you got 5ghz at 1.35 stable

    2) What I propose :

Grab this LinX version from Zalbards thread ( as it almost correctly stresses all the cores and threads ) : linx(0.64)_10.3.0.003.zip

    3) All ram has to be selected and it has to be at least 20 runs and still running. So select eg 25 loops and once you passed 20 grab a screenie with everything running.

    4) CPU-Z : CPU and Memory tab open

    5) TMonitor open ( to see all the cores loaded ) 32 Bit : TMonitor_1031_32.exe 64 Bit : TMonitor_1031_64.exe

    6) List : CPU , Batch, Mobo & Bios version , cooling type.

If more ideas pop up plz let me know, will start to collect from tomorrow ( now I need some sleep)

Question : Why do some overclockers switch into d*ckmode when money is involved

Another thing I find funny is AMD/Intel would snipe any of our Moms on a grocery run if it meant good quarterly results, and you are forever whining about what feser did?

@Zalbard :Well my Antivirus blocks me, so I have to disable it to get access, indeed if you use IE you get directed to another site, upped the files to the FTP... good speeds and no waiting...

ow saw now that you are collecting data already mate, go ahead and continue !!!
