Looks decent, hopefully they can bring up the reliability of their MB up to spec.

I've pushed my GD70 pretty hard on both air and water and not had any issues. I've not had any problems with this G65 either. Though it seems like a luck of the draw but I've had no issues with my first and past two MSI motherboards.

From my understanding, not a single motherboard died at MSI's MOA event. That says a lot about their new PWM design at least...

the old K9A2 CF were utter crap, but honestly a sub 100$ AMD motherboard with a heatsink on fets is going to be pretty reliable considering the price paid. the difference between a 80$ and 200$ board is not much for average users and OCer, and thats a good thing with so many AMD fans loving the price/perf offered.

It's a good-looking mobo, i hope msi turns this one out right. Anyone have any idea if EVGA will be putting out any AM3+ boards??

Unlikely, since they haven't made any AMD boards so far.

Probably do as many AM3+ as they did AM3 and AM2.

The only way I can see eVGA making an AMD board is if Bulldozer really brings the heat. I don't think there's technically anything stopping them from producing AMD based boards but that's not really the market that they cater too. I mean it is, but in their eyes it probably isn't.

At this time I'd be happy to see some results of older AM3 chips in this new AM3+ board.

They have made AM2/AM2+ boards before. Mostly due to the nForce chipset supporting it

So I shall expect 2 AM3+ mobos from eVGA... haHA!

eVGA's mobo team left for the Sapphire pastures some time ago. Maybe not everybody, but enough to get in the news.

interesting with the pins - i thought they'd moved over to LGA like with there opterons?

Still - I'm really looking forward to BD - i want to move from intel (e8500) to a AMD setup

since AM3 cpus have to fit into AM3+ boards the changes could not be very drastic

What prompted you to think that? Was it just an assumption? I've not heard any rumors of LGA desktop chips. The last word on the subject was AMD saying they have no plans for LGA outside of servers.
Particle's First Rule of Online Technical Discussion:
As a thread about any computer related subject has its length approach infinity, the likelihood and inevitability of a poorly constructed AMD vs. Intel fight also exponentially increases.

    Rule 1A:
Likewise, the frequency of a car pseudoanalogy to explain a technical concept increases with thread length. This will make many people chuckle, as computer people are rarely knowledgeable about vehicular mechanics.

    Rule 2:
When confronted with a post that is contrary to what a poster likes, believes, or most often wants to be correct, the poster will pick out only minor details that are largely irrelevant in an attempt to shut out the conflicting idea. The core of the post will be left alone since it isn't easy to contradict what the person is actually saying.

    Rule 2A:
When a poster cannot properly refute a post they do not like (as described above), the poster will most likely invent fictitious counter-points and/or begin to attack the other's credibility in feeble ways that are dramatic but irrelevant. Do not underestimate this tactic, as in the online world this will sway many observers. Do not forget: Correctness is decided only by what is said last, the most loudly, or with greatest repetition.

    Rule 3:
When it comes to computer news, 70% of Internet rumors are outright fabricated, 20% are inaccurate enough to simply be discarded, and about 10% are based in reality. Grains of salt--become familiar with them.

Remember: When debating online, everyone else is ALWAYS wrong if they do not agree with you!

    Random Tip o' the Whatever
You just can't win. If your product offers feature A instead of B, people will moan how A is stupid and it didn't offer B. If your product offers B instead of A, they'll likewise complain and rant about how anyone's retarded cousin could figure out A is what the market wants.

I just assumed that it would be a natural progression with them using it with opterons

Maybe DrMOS based PWM is not the best for extrem OC but it's still very good for a reasonable 24/7 OC with air or water. It's efficient and gives stable voltages which is sadly not an evident thing on many ASUS mobos for example.
