Having said that, I may be the only one in the Twin Cities, but I'm not upgrading. Gonna stick around with my current X58 until X68 comes out. Not much improvement over the X58 other than plain hype about a different technology.

Well, I've had it planned to make the 310-mile round trip to MC in Atlanta but unfortunately somethings come up and won't be able to make it out there tomorrow. Any idea on how long MC will keep these prices?
My guess is this will be the regular price at MicroCenter, they always have the best prices on CPU's. (in store pickup only)
I just ordered from NewEgg for 329.00, MicroCenter didnt have a P67 board I wanted so I would have to wait for the board anyway. Cost me an extra 50.00 but the 180mile round trip drive would have cost 30-40.00 in gas, and taken 4-6 hrs to drive depending on the crazy Northern VA/DC traffic.

Yeah I think I'll probably just order from the Egg and save me the trip. After gas and taxes it really doesn't make sense to go to MCBTW - I'm kind of surprised the P67A-UD4 is $198 shipped, I was expecting around $169

The Cpus and motherboards are online on Micro Centers website. Check the store near you and see if the option to reserve for in store pick up is available. I just did it so i will see how it goes. Each store doesn't seem to have a lot of the 2600ks.
Heads up for those going to Rockville. Got an email saying they are in stock and ready to order. Checked the website and it only showed 4 2600K in stock so I did the online order for in store pickup. Now it shows 3 in stock.
That is what I just did also. My store shows six 2600K in stock and now there is 5 after my order. Thank God they allow pre order as six chips is not going to last 5 minutes once those doors open in my area. They have 20 each of the 2400/2500K which will sell out with in hours at this store.![]()
Ordered mines at like 4 to 4:30a.m. Now there are no 2600ks left. Hopefully their tracking system is good and no employees decided to grab some for themselves.
My store sold out on 2600Ks in the time I typed that last message. Now there 2500Ks are starting to go also.
So... I also reserved one, but i didn't got an email yet!!!
Think that could be a huge mess at the store today
Damn, Im getting off work at 6pm today! Gonna have to wait for the next shipment Im afraid.![]()

I went to my local Micro Center this morning when they first opened up and they only had two remaining 2600k on the Sandy Bridge table. Both had the same batch# L039B467... here is to hoping that this turns out to be a decent batch! (When I woke up this morning the online inventory for my two Atlanta Micro Centers was showing ~ 6 units of 2600k at each store while the 2500k was showing ~ 20 units.) Apparently they don't allow reserving online for newly released cpu on release day as my online orders were cancelled.
Ryzen 9 on the test bench... Sometimes older generation/tech as well.
That is interesting to hear because I just got back from my Micro center in Jersey with my 2600K and they did reserve for me from early this morning. I got a L040B208 batch chip and very happy to have it after the insane fight that happened at the store. I tried to take a few pics with my phone of the store manager fighting with at least 20 different people, it was simply retarded.
Just got back from MC. They had my order waiting for me. Batch for the 2600k i got it #L039B214
I reserved one at the Westmont location at 7am when it said they had 6 in stock.
After I placed my order it said 5 in stock.
But then at 10:03 am I received an E-mail saying they needed to Cancel my order due to No Stock Available.
Got to the Rockville store 15 minutes before they opened. Was at least 20 people already waiting. We all ran to the back and the guy next to me asked for a 2600K and they told everybody they were all reserved for online in store pickup so they didnt have any to sell. I spoke up and said "Oh so I can go up front and get mine then" and everybody gave me a dirty look. LMFAO!
Batch #L039B214

GRATS!
Sounds like me when I drop off prepaid packages to the post office... everyone's waiting in line taking 15-20+ minutes while I walk in and out in under a minute by simply going up to the counter and saying "This is pre-paid, can I leave it here?" then doing so.

There is one left at my local MC but it's now INSTORE ONLY, so no one reserve it at the moment.
