OMG pretty pwease ????????
here in Aus prices are a joke, I am about to buy 2 x 6950 (to unlock) cheapest price is $360 each...... what a ripoff, specially when both currencies are at parity
So far the 2600K is $399 here in Australia and the normal 2600 version is $329, is it really worth the extra $60 for an unlocked multiplier?
It really sucks Intel decided to limit overclocking via the FSB.... WTF

Yeah its insane we must pay extra for everything and its bullreally. But at least the i7 2600k isn't at $500, as I thought it would be.
Double post deleted, didn't even notice it myself and no, its not my dog I wish I had one, I used it as an avatar because it looks cute and adorable.

Are there any reviews of SB out there that show the influence of memory speed on general everyday performance and gaming? I'm wondering if memory speed has a larger influence on SB performance than it did on Lynnfield...
I MSI P67A-GD65 I Intel i5 2500K I 8Gb Samsung I
I Corsair F3 60Gb I AMD 6850 I Dell SP2208WFP I Windows 7 x64 I
I Current Speed: 4.5Ghz I RAM 1866Mhz @ 9-9-9-27 1T I
I Laptop I Acer 1830T I Intel i5-470UM I Crucial M225 I 4Gb DDR3 I
Probably not really for gaming Im guessing, but benching is a different story.

I'm looking at that gskill 8GB 1600 set, probably enough for 4.5Ghz OC?
I too am wondering about this exact same thing. I just don't know what to do w/ my RAM purchase for the 2600K. I'm on air, don't bench, and mostly game and fold. I'm thinking about the 1600 kit of RipJaws X that just came out but they have 7 and 9 timings that differ by quite a bit of cash.
For all you aussie geeksuse staticice.com.au for best aussie prices.. im sure you know it already but just incase..
Another thing I find funny is AMD/Intel would snipe any of our Moms on a grocery run if it meant good quarterly results, and you are forever whining about what feser did?

Adding to what JumpingJack says above. Get the lower latency. I have found that really seems to be the only thing that does make a difference in memory these days. Unless your application is Bandwidth hungry then by all means go for a DDR3 2133 memory kit.
Not particularly relevent to anything, but was fooling around with Anand's bench..
I don't know why, but I find this "almost clock for clock" comparison interesting.. http://www.anandtech.com/bench/Product/93?vs=289
Both Dual core, Hyperthreaded CPU's .. One's almost exactly 5 yrs older :P , and in complete contrast, was the flagship model.
