    x58-UD5 - 6970 CFX + RAID = no go?

    Hey all,

I recently purchased two 6970s and installed them.

    Day one - No issues

Day two - I boot up and cards run fine, but no RAID controller on boot.

Day three - Try taking out 1 card and leaving in controller, boots fine.

Day four (jan 1st), boot up with single card, but again RAID controller doesn't boot.

The controller has been in the same slot (btm orange slot) since I got this board (2+ yrs) and I've never had an issue. But now there's defiantly a ghost in the machine.

    Info (specs in sig)

Everything is running at stock speeds, and PCIE_X16_1 is set as first for gfxs on boot.

    Bois is: F12 (latest)
    GFX: ATI 10.12a R3 (dec 16th)

    Side Notes

So playing around some more and tried a single card 3dmark 11 run: P4957 (http://3dmark.com/3dm11/327438). Which makes me think that the CFX run of P7533 is BS and the raid card or something else is messing with my results. But also tried booting with CFX and no raid card and got 100% fan, no display so board or something else isn't very happy.

    Tried Things

Boot with CFX & RAID - 100% fans and no display (now, but day 1 it worked)

Boot with CFX only - 100% fans and no display

Boot with single card and RAID - worked first time, but not since

    Any ideas/help would be great!

I reflashed to F12 (seems the consensus it's the best bios) and then cleared the cmos. Installed everything and it booted on the first try. Very strange, will update again tomorrow, see if the motherboard is still happy.
