TBH I am not even sure that specific news will come out about the new cards, since the revisions seem minor from a functional standpoint. But from a cooling solution provider standpoint, they are significant enough that the design must be different.
You're probably right about the revision not changing much, but I'd bet it'd be reported on at least some of the tech sites I read because it affects aftermarket coolers.
On an off-topic note: any news about the second revision MCP35X reservoir? It's the only thing I'm waiting for (other than Sandy Bridge)

great job on the design gabe, I don't know why people would upgrade from the first version of the card to the second but it is certainly worth being prepared to deal with those few customers.

Think about the confusion that is going to occur when both versions of the boards are floating around. Also think about the user who has the initial board release with our block, and wants to get a second board, but only the revised version is available.

These cards are notoriously attractive in Cross Fire. They are also horribly loud in extreme O/C situations (try to run 2 at 100% fan speed, it is unbearable). So they are perfect candidates for L/C. But not everyone can buy two of them at once. So, having blocks that are precisely compatible with both versions (thermically, hydraulically, and in terms of geometry for C/F installation) is crucial.

One finish site based on this information guessed that new revision might have cheaper VRMs by Texas Instruments that were in deficit during initial card launch and therefore replaced with more expensive ones by Volterra to not push back launch date. It's also possible that new revision of 6950 might have some extra pipeline unlocking protection implemented to fight easy current 6950>6970 BIOS mod, so i'd say it's worth to buy 6950 cards now while those are of first revision.

Those look real nice Gabe. I'm sure the dominate blue led lighting in most rigs will appreciate that and the red badge stands out without looking out of place, in fact, on the first one, it looks very "in place" centered over those crossing swirls. Kind of a knife's edge look.

    Really nice!
Any chance of a red version, though? Radeon cards are usually red & black themed.

gabe: imho you should put poll, as to which is most popular and add that as stock one to set + possibility to order somewhere few other more popular designs in lesser print run of course. I'm guessing that different people will choose different stickers depending on color theme of their builds, to each his own.
    EDIT
Hmm, and what do you think of idea of designing future cpu and universal gpu waterblocks also this way, as in with stickers, by using which user can easily customise looks/color for cheap?

Wow great stickers all of them! But being an "older" man I'm partial to the simplicity of pado's design.

Ditch the lizard LOL... Can't wait Gabe.

^ I like this one, nice and simple - the design is not too loud... and yet it strongly delivers the name.

    Please no lizard.

(FP-COMP7) now that looks like a great tag... By the way Gabe, are the pins of the W/block plate the same size as they are in the apogee XT?

Any date we will see these at retailers? I saw somewhere in this thread Jan 15. I need to place an order but am waiting until these arrive so I can buy everything I need all at once.
