    Got OCZ EB + NF7 ? Post here !

I'd like to get some feedback on this combo ! I'm planning on getting some ram and i wanna reach high FSB , around 230-240 shouldnt be to hard to get without vmods i think / hope . I'd like to know what y'all running your EB's at on your NF7 . Timings , voltages , frequency , etc... !

    Thanks !

If you call 230 high, then go for it. That's the best my 3500EB does stable in my nF2 board.

I know 230 isn't "high" here at xtreme , hell it isn't high on most OC forums . I'm just looking for some tight precharge and ras to cas timings at 230 fsb and over. Anything over 230 will be gladly accepted as extra

Doing 230 maximum on my nf7, 230 is not what I call "high fsb", I was hoping at 270 and more since my BH5 do 265 2-2-2-5 dc.

    Tested at 3.1V with 2x256 PC3700EB sticks.

My 2x256 PC3500 EB will do 227MHz at 2.94V 3-2-2-9 in dual channel. I think I might be able to lower the voltage, but I haven't been able to test a whole lot yet. Running in single channel at the same voltage and timings only got me to 235, which is not much of an improvement.

I think I may be getting to the limit of my motherboard here. I tried some of my bro's PC4000 yesterday and I couldn't boot into Windows XP at 240MHz, but 235 worked like a charm.

BTW, all tests were done with 1.7 VDD and CPU Interface ENABLED.

When I convince my dad to help me, I will get my mobo VDD modded to see if that helps. I'd like to be able to get into the 240's. I knew I didn't need an Infinity.

L12 mod helps with FSB if your stuck around 228 on your NF7-S... could be CPU holding you back

    230 is high for NF7
if you want more than 270 on an nf2 you'll have to get a DFI and pray

    230 is nothing on a NF7, 250-260 is high.

Ive yet to see ANY nf2 break 270 stable. I have serious reservations about believing claims of over 255 (2-2-2 dc) being stable. I don't think they really stab-test it well enough before they make those claims.
Only the stupidest humans believe that the dogma of relative filth is a defense.

Actually, I have done the L12 mod. Before I was stuck at 217!

I think I may be giving my RAM too little voltage, because my brother's PC4000 worked perfectly at 235MHz, but my comp will blue screen all the time with my RAM at that speed, even at 3-3-2-9 and 2.9V.

I'm thinking of doing a VDIMM mod. 3.0 or 3.1V should be plenty, and not enough to hurt my shiny new RAM too badly.

I'll do some more testing with that PC4000 tomorrow to see if it is the RAM or my motherboard crapping out... I also downloaded a new modded BIOS that is supposed to help with high FSB. Guys are claiming 240-250MHz FSB on stock boards. We'll see...

    i'm talking everyday stable
for an unmodded NF7 230+ is high, especially considering the more recent boards generally max out 220~225 without mods

a decent amount of mods got older boards to 250+, i doubt if it'd be the same for the newer ones tho

    Payday is coming !

I still wanna get a 2x256 of ram that'll do x-2-2-11 at ~225 + fsb ... I'm tempted by the EB but i think i'll be kinda wasting it if i stay in the 225fsb range . I was thinking maybe some XMS XL could do the trick ? Argh , please guys help me make a wise and xtremely enlightened decision !

Most newer NF7s does 230+ stable, then I mean with all multis, 1t, tight timings and all that. I know since I've owned a bunch of them myself.
3 to be correct. And one older one.

Is high?!? You only need a good set of memsand a board that gives voltage, and Abit and Lanparty do that....

My board (16/4/04 buy) is working without any mods and with 235FSB rock stable with 2,9v at 2-2-2-5

i got my NF7 ~7 months ago and it does 234 out of the box

i have noticed more people saying they can only get theyre NF7(-S) to 220~225 than those saying they can get 230+

perhaps its cos theyre using lower grade ram, but i reckon theres a trend

270 is a no go! At least at room temps...

But for stability: I got a really good Taiwanese DFI LP B last time (dead now ) doing over 258MHz primestable at 3.1GHz... Of course I could also do 3d and such things... Superpi 32m etc.
