I would disagree with the analogy as todays machines get credited the same as the old ones.
IE:My 2005 dual single core Netburst based dual 3600/2mb/800 xeon got 7500PPD.
Todays top dualie, a SR2 at say 4200 will get app 105-110,000PPD but it really is doing 15 times the work of the old dualie so the "currency" hasn't been devalued..![]()




Ummm... I may not know what it was like on WCG back in the day. I do remember when I started with F@H 9/1/08. Anyone putting up 600-800 ppd was god-like. 1000 ppd seemed unreachable. With the advent SMPs with dual and quad cores, there was a new points standard. It's kinda like what the Fed is doing with QE 2. By pumping 600 billion more dollars into the system, our currency is worth 20% less. I'm not sure how much QE 1 devalued our currency. It's a lot like today's devalued-inflated F@H and WCG points though.
