Chew* and msimax back benching Ln2

Usually when the 2 of us get together we pull out all the stops.

    Today was no exception.

I needed some ln2 time on a VGA card to warm up for MOA and get a feel for this new pot.

While I played ln2/pot/temp/volts/rog connect control Msimax took the wheel at the keyboard.

Our first plan was just to take a 5870 for a spin but some idiot ( me ) recieved the card preabused and never verified it worked due to missing screws.

Luckily I had a 4850 already modded and ready to rock, not changing the OS tuning or drivers that were set up specifically for 5870 we plodded on.

    System
    Rampage III E
    ASUS 4850 TOP
    Corsair AX 1200
    Corsair Dominator GT
    Ln2cooling.com pot
    Kingpin Tek 9 Fat

We sat playing with Vantage for a while getting card dialed in and finally netted a silver cup not to be confused with 2nd place WR whatever that is.......

Then we knocked out 3 gold cups.......

03 gave us headaches in the fact it would not even launch the app

Have pics of rig later. We are beat and I have to give msimax a ride now.

Nice chew, what was the current WR? cant seem to find it..

Another thing I find funny is AMD/Intel would snipe any of our Moms on a grocery run if it meant good quarterly results, and you are forever whining about what feser did?

No WR's john, although people confuse first in a specific class with that quite often lately........

AM3, 06 and 05 are first place single results, I couldn't match riskas ram speeds in vantage though.

Most who bench 4850 know its severely ram bottlenecked.

yes non ref, it lacks an extra phase the matrix has, however it's been extensively modded, enough to run at 1.7+ volts without blowing up or triggering OCP and or OVP

    Congrats on the cups!
I see 4800 BIOS is still holding it back from running higher clocks, despite of some individuals promising a fix a year ago...

    You can't compare RV790 with RV770

Great scores Chew* and msimax! For me reinstalling the OS and not patching 3d03 was the way to go.

nothing wrong with RV 770 bios........the card does close to 1200 core.....without higher and stable ram clocks its pointess to push that high.

did msi max sleep over the beeping smoke detectors? chew told me all about you and how he loves to bench with you. You should come over some time msimax I am in the east village.
hit me a pm/ good job brian and msi max. good to see the band back together.

chew I dont know about msi max but I was so scared on that bench table when you are pouring ln2 over my head. when I was pouring for you I was freaking out.

Guys that dont know what Im talking about..

chew benches in a room about 8x8 feet and the bench table is 2 levels. You have the board on the top shelf and the monitor and keyboard 3 feet directly below it. so whoever is benching, they are on the bottom squatting about 2 feet from the floor and you have a ln2 pouring a foot away from your head. its scary as hell.

I have a vid from the last session so you can see what its like. Im the idiot with the glasses and the TNG Deanna Troi t shirt.
