my understanding is that nvidia had some troubles implementing the GDDR5 mem controller and that is why none of thier new cards can match the mem speeds of ATI. that is also why they use a wider mem bus

i think using the high speed ram on current nvidia cards is a waste, but i'm glad they're trying to eek out additional performance where possible

    yes u r right

No matter what voltage memory can't go above 1150 for stability that's 4300MHz

May be this should improve with GTX560 ...... I think so.

& May be we should see some faster GDDR5's on GTX570 ..............

I am getting this card tomorrow and will be posting in this thread. I think it is a wise choice, as I have opportunity to choose between this card [ Talon Attack] and Gigabyte/Sapphire 6870 .. I hope I will grab some decent one..

It would be really great if you can remember settings for memory [ in afterburner] or even your highest air clock 24/7 settings/bios...

    " Note:
I have noticed the VRM area getting very hot that too includes memory VRM & an added high speed GDDR5 is still not overclockable to the max ,the Afterburner provided with the card is non functional provided to the " World's First Triple Voltage Control "

Interesting, so they made a great cooler that can run chip cold [ 28-29c idle and 65c furmark stable] but vrm's are running hot as hell.. that's the only thing that bugging me and thinking about referent gigabyte 6870... damn what a thug choice....

    that's true

But this OC's better/more that any reference one ..... right

Mem can go upto 1150 straight no voltage needed & core can max go for 925-930 with max voltage ..........

    Just a quick note.

I didn't managed to get Talon Attack because I was late like for a few hours [ ffs I also work from 08-15h] and all that is left was, Gigabyte 6870.. Ok I was pissed off because of that, but I've already contacted like every store and local MSI HQ here, answer was negative.
I think Talon Attack will not be available in Serbia soon....

Of course either Gigabyte GTX460 SOC is not available too ... but I think this 6870 is not as bad as it seems... card runs cold and it's decent overclocker...

    good luck with that SOC
