After a frustrating day I managed to pull off the best score on the ORB for AMD.

Lucid is disabled ( not working ) quite a few hacks to get to this point.

"The workaround that seems to solve this for me is to untick scan systeminfo in the help tab of the 3D Mark 11 startup menu. So long as that is ticked I get a black screen."

Some nice results coming in, another one of my friends has just ordered a 6870 (thats now two in 2 mile radius) One also has a 850W PSU .... I may have to beg this weekend, oh yes

the other thing to note is if gpu's are to high they will fail physics.

I know that makes no sense but the physics tests seem harder on the gpu's than the actual GT's.

Last thing to explore seems to be OS choice, but seeing a trend where 64 bit cpu scores are better, not sure about GT's yet.

Have you tried 32bit exe in X64 chew?
Regarding physics test and GPU being to high > seeming to cause it to fail, maybe due to inaccuracy of data proccessed by GPU (no error correction), that would be my guess. (this is ram speed you have tested or just core speed?)
I just bit the bullet and purchased the Advanced Edition (inevitable really)
After reading the article by monstru, I really need to run Resolution Scaling tests / in each preset E P X / and then test this against all the other godamn variables

When I first unticked sysinfo I got through one (and only one) bench. Setting my 5850@stock made no diff, I would either get lost keyboard focus or process exited unexpectedly. Cat 11 drivers, gear in sig, stable config for everything else. There are a number of folks reporting this @futuremark forums, I even see charged's tracks there.

Anyway, I still can't get through the physics tests. Maybe by the time I get my new gear and install they'll have a fix.

Nah not yet, I am sort of liking the bench though, benefits a little from this, that and other things, not just shear CPU speed or GPU speed.

Def a bench that can benefit from total platform performance tuning.

I can pass all GT's at 925 core, but not physics....

Oh the other thing you guys can do is try and kill transparrent windows, like change the theme to basic instead of aero, between that and hacking MY activation I haven't really had problems since.
