I'm still having trouble with 3dmark11, managed to complete one run immediately after turning off sysinfo in the help tab. But now it is refusing to cooperate again, so I can't crank up the vid card. Just as well, as I have another 5850 on the way.
Just lit the woodstove, so it's still cool. Not that it makes much difference at the settings I used.
