Same argument applies though. The architecture isn't targeted solely at games so gaming perf/mm isn't a very useful metric when evaluating the architecture as a whole. Unless of course you want to judge it based on what you think it should be (gaming focused) and not what it is (more generalized).

nvidia released it AFTER 3dmark vantage was out, so in a discussion about the effectiveness of their architecture in vantage, yes i think its quite fine to talk about the fermi architecture and how its a step back from their last generation for this single benchmark that you pointed out.
