Incidentally, the Clean Water project is a bonanza for points on Sossamans running 32bit Linux without needing a ton of RAM. If, however, you DO have tons of RAM and a good connection (and a robust HDD) the Clean Energy project seems to have a straight connection to points Nirvana!

na its running, just no boot to OS. just boots to the mobo command prompt.

also that corsair 400watt looks shmexy with the noctua 140mm fan.
(altho it is kinda funny seeing 35$ fan inside of a 40$ psu)

became very broke after putting this together.. soon hopefully a harddrive, and some internets.. i thought i was gona go crazy without internets for like 2months

I've discovered a fundamental problem with these machines. It troubles me greatly in fact.

    The problem is:

The only way to see that sexy Xeon Boot Logo is to reboot the machine!

Yeah, they're all over the internet. Most places I've found so far just link back to that one.

I also found an ebay listing for a PAIR that ended at 99cents. <grieve>

yep, I did when I had it.. but then I got too many HDDs.. & I wasnt about to buy a hi-end 16+ SATA port RAID controller - there just seemed something wrong with putting a ~USD$1K RAID controller in a ~USD$150 rig

na..besides..I had already put 2 silicon image cards in the PCIX & PCIE slots, then enabled RAID on one of them.. result? summary: 32bit rig + 4GB RAM + 3x SI SATA controllers with RAID enabled = BSOD HELL
