I believe that only single CPU configurations with CPU that is sold as single core and has a single core working are allowed. So the only nehalem-family CPUs allowed would be Xeon LC3518 or Celeron P1053, except that you can't get them and they probably would be supported by desktop boards...

i dont know why they do that..

in bios i set USE CPU 1 disable from 4 cores the 3 and then i set only multithread (for the one core) and turbo mode and thats it.
now the Hwbot says that im using 2/2 cores threads to 1 so i cant post it in 1 core section but on 2 core section only.....

Yeah T its a no go. I wish you could. but they did it to make the 1 stage the ultimate challenge. think about it. you are limited to cache and htt/fsb and locked multis. If that was the case I would take my x3 BE and just disable cores and use the multi and have the cache. You would see dudes on thubans just using cache and disabling cores it would be no fun.
The single stage is by far the most challenging in this NOV contest. first off you need a board that can do high fsb or htt since there are not unlocked single cpus currently.
2nd problem is that pc vantage was never intended for single core cpu. its funny how much smoother the bench runs from 1-4 cores. then you have the gaming 1 bug to deal with.
it looks easy and yeah its pathetic benching at 4-4.5 ghz on ln2 and you can make your judgements and ":p " remarks but you have no clue until you are actually doing this yourself totally limited to the bare bones. the 1st stage is a completely different ballgame. its in a class by itself and prob the toughest hw contest yet.

Our member Aerou made news at hwbot, he is now ranked first in the 2 core stages of the Gigabyte Core Prime Contest! Well done!

Congrats to ZenEffect and mk-ultra as well, for taking home the lucky draw prizes in their respective categories of the MSI MOA 2011 pre-qualifiers!
mk-ultra won the MSI P55-GD85 and ZenEffect will get the MSI P55-GD65.

    Congrats again guys!

    Good morning,
regarding 8800 GTX overclocking - rivatuner seems to be working great for fan speed and clocks.
question - is there a way to increase voltages like we do with the 5870/AMD GPU Clock Tool?

Nope, it doesn't have the volterra controller onboard like some newer cards(including that 5870) so you're stuck with stock voltages unless you do a hard volt mod.
    Clock it!

well guys, it may just be PCMV, but looks like team XS dominated the November competition, winning all four stages with a new WR in each of them!
barring any last minute email submissions or other BS this one should be done

Also, Trans Am has made a very good effort, with his ssd's and the 9260, and did very well on two difficult segments, the one core and three core. Undeniably the two hardest segments to win in this competition, and he did an excellent job, his LN2 skills are truly ninja!
SteveRo's work with the acards is phenomenal, and his knowledge and skill are complete for this bench (he does hold the overall WR).

I have seen guys with better hardware do worse than these guys, thats for sure. My hat is off to both of my teammates, not only are they great competitors, but very good friends as well.

man I was getting nervous when massman was nipping at steves heels. Steve had to work late so he submitted that bench as soon as he got up and he gets up early. anything couldve happened. Im amazed by all this. not that i dont have faith in my team but you know how these things go. Its a big ebay auction and people always snipe. I have a 35l dewar and that thing will last for usually for 5 sessions of just cpu pouring. even during 32m and wprime 1024 ive never seen ln2 go this fast. 2x 5 hr sessions of pcmv and its gone. and that single core stage was by far the hardest bench ive ever come across. my apt is a disaster area for the past month. it looks like an oc hurricane hit it! its gonna take the whole month of december to clean it up and put all this computer crap away.
computurd has a new baby on the way due in 2 weeks so I'm glad we got this over with while we did.
i gotta get off here and clean up this place. i dont know how the married guys with families can get away with this crap. ive seen chews place and he benches in a 8 x 8ft space. maybe the Dec hw contest should be how fast you can clean up all your computer crap after the nov contest!

Much thanks to everyone for all the cudos, but as Mr Trans am eluded to previously - the great storage guru - Dr. Computurd guided us to this perfect score.
Without Dr CT's mentoring we may not have won this competition - let alone acheived the perfect score.
Hats off and much thanks to Dr CT!
