    Some updates,
Checking out if intakes can be installed at the bottom of the case. Initially thinking of 2x120 as 3x120 is just a tad too long to fit, but am leaning towards the 2x140.

    Checking for clearance

My auzentech xplosion would fit in with just a little room to spare.

A tad too tight for comfort.

Also made an air filter out of stainless steel mesh and acrylic.

And a small mod for the psu bracket. Converted the rear 80mm exhausts into a mini viewport.

Tinkering around with the positions of the res and pump. Settled on this rough placement.

Only issue here is that the pump wire is protruding out of the back of the pump and into the way of the intake fans. Might have to resolve to drilling a new exit for the wires to make clearance for the pump.

Also cut out a few more access ports for cable management.

Drilled and re-tapped the swiftech rad to accept m4 screws instead of the stock m3.5. This would give me more freedom to use screws of my choice.

Some ideas on the exterior of the radiator. I think it looks better with the wire mesh then without.

While i was tinkering around with the rad, i discovered that the apogee gt that i was planning to use for the build had a defective screw, and thus was not able to be tightened properly.

Defective screw compared to a normal one.

Since i was already working on the rad, i decided to tap the apogee block as well and fix the problem on the spot instead of going hunting for the imperial standard screw. (its really difficult getting imperial standard stuff where i live)

Enlarged the holes on the body to accommodate the larger m4 screw.

Assembled together for a quick test. Fits together perfectly.

Now down to readying the block for mounting. There seemed to be some sort of metal contamination at the base of the block. Im not quite sure what it is but it looks like part of a chip IHS.

    A quick lap with 2000grit...

Not the best finish, but at least its flat.

By now you would have noticed that the base is in a terrible condition. So final step, cleaning with some vinegar and a wire brush.

Same treatment for the EK NB Block.

And to finish up this update, some pics of the blocks.

    Here are some updates,

I did quite abit of research on HDDs and finally went with these. Why these you ask? Well, with these in raid, they just as fast as 1TB Blacks and a faster then a single velociraptor 600GB at a fraction of the cost. With a small hit in random access times with regards to the velociraptor.)

    8GB goodness

Removed the foam off the back panel as i didnt quite like it. Came out surprisingly cleanly considering it was stuck to the metal like flypaper.

Now for the radiator, it went for a good sanding, a good bath and a nice new coat of fresh paint.

Small screwup in the paint coat,

Sanded the bad parts and started over,

Also gave my dvd cover a black coat,

And just for kicks, my gpu heatsink too...

And lastly, same treatment for the ramsinks.

Also diy a QDC sata rail for the HDD array. The blank spot is for the WD Green 2TB which has yet to arrive.

The RAM blocks almost look as if they've been covered with powder snow. It looks extremely nice!

Some multicoloured variations for when the mood kicks in. I prefer the white/blue lighting though. Lighting is done with some leftover led strips from project supernova.

End of the project for now. Hope you guys enjoyed it as much as i did

I'm gonna take a guess here and say they are RGB LEDs which are in fact three LEDs in one mounting, and he's using PWM to adjust the ratio of each color.

Yeah they are rgb leds but are controlled with a preset microchipped module. The lights can be controlled via a mini remote control that comes with the module.

Came back to point out that these 2 pics in particular stick in my mind because they have such a nice warm tone to them,
totally unlike the harsh red, acid green or deep blue of typical case lighting. It's really appealing to me. I want something like it.
I assume it's some combination of red and green LED's, or maybe amber?

    Much appreciated mate!
Yup its amber. I think you can find amber led lighting relatively easy from places like perfomance-pcs and such. They come either as spotlights or led strips from what i have seen. HTH
