ok yes you need to change a setting under pc health status, you turn smart fan to enabled then then smart fan mode you have 3 options, auto, pwm, and voltage. For 4 pin you choose pwm for 3 pin its voltage, voltage works just fine for 3 pin you can control it in windows with ET6, only 1 port is controlled though, and its the one next to the socket for the cpu.

Cool, thank you! Now I just need to wait for a good ddr3 ram and cpu deal. So far I haven't seen any good sales from newegg for 12gb (4x3) - and I don't have a microcenter nearby..

    Oh, and it's a ver 2 that I recieved.

excellent you are in luck the rev 2.0 is a UD7 without the watercooled NB. Its one hell of a board. wait till black friday if nothing happens you might have to wait till sandybridge releases.

    thank you again stasio!

BTW here is the clockgen for the cpu:

For SET FSB clock gen is : ICS9LPRS914EKL the actual clockgen is ICS9LPRS914EKLF but setfsb doesn't have that in there yet.

I just bought these patriot 3x4 1600s, I noticed that they have pretty tall heatsinks, will I have a problem combining this and the prolimatech megahalems Rev.B CPU cooler with the motherboard? I kept on trying to search in google, but I couldn't seem to find anything about this motherboard and heatsink together.

You know what those bios updates did? they slowed down my SSD on the marvell, FC2 increased my speeds, but FC4 and FC5 decreased em, the UD3R just has official non beta FC bios released with another ver of the marvell firmware, i am going to try it.

Your cooler should fit, ill post a pic or two showing spacing if that could help, i do not own any air coolers other than stock ones. Look at attachments.

If you have tall HS on the ram modules you are supposed to remove them.

Thank you for those pics. Once I get the CPU (that's all I have left to buy now), I'll take pics once I build it.

No that would be considered user damage.

lets see a picture, did it melt itself? and did you use a lot of dielectric grease? did you melt one of the chips or what? Also i think the reason your board is working is becuase the board automatically uses one set of the 8x2 sets of phases in normal mode, not all 16.

    Hey guys,
Just got one of these boards, and I am having a bit of trouble getting to a stable 4.2 (close, but not there).
    Running an i7 980x, FB Bios, Swiftech, Apogee GTX, Corsair Dominator 1600 6Gb, GTX 460SOC, Vertex2 40Gb, 6 x 2TB HDD, in a HAF 932.
Have been looking EVERYWHERE for info on the Rev 2 UD7, finally found this forum.
Hopefully someone can give me a template, or some pointers to get me to 4.2 at least for 24/7 video encoding, using Ripbot264, which is like a stress test, in itself, it drives the CPU to 100% for hours.
Have been getting random BSOD stop 101 problems, @ 4160, basic settings, just BCLK, and most other settings auto.
    Cheers

    Hi,

I've been through this thread and was wondering if there is actually any way - other than upon POST, getting into the BIOS, or opening the box - if one can discern if the board inside is actually a rev 2.0 or a rev 1.0 UD5.

Thanks in advance to anyone who can help.

mk_ln ok so to tell the difference on the front of the box on the lower left hand side it states it has 16 phases, as well as a sticker on front that says usb on/off charge. On the side there is a sticker with the board bar codes and stuff it says rev 2.0.

I use bios GOOC for OCing, the board is fairly new so hopefully new bios's will improve OCing, even though its pretty damn good, out of the beta FC bios's i liked FC2 for its sata6g firmware, FC4 and FC5 not so much for that reason, but i havn't tried OCing that much on them. For you i would try GOOC, its bios FB but a little updated and better for OCing.

Take a look at the first post and the database spreadsheet with everyone's info, i posted it recently to a post above yours so scroll up, if its not there goto the first page it will be huge and in read, there are many templates. But what you should do is post your template, off the second post in the thread, post yours just like that and we can help you. EDIT: actually here you go: https://spreadsheets.google.com/ccc?...thkey=CK2ot_MM Take a look it took me a few hours to put it togther b/c there was an old spreadsheet with just UD7 rev 1.0 and i had to put them in there by hand, every one, that thread will show all components used down to PSU.

BTW yea i know this is the only place for rev 2 of these boards and its kinda sad, but the thing is they are amazing boards best built in town and they OC very well. I also run the UD5/UD7 thread over at OCN, but its for both revisions and not many people have the second revision yet, its only been out 2-3 months. http://www.overclock.net/intel-mothe...a-ud5-ud7.html . I would rather you post here, i can get back to you quicker. BTW in the database i made sure people put down what revision of what board they used.

Great! Thank you so much! Now to make sure that my source is selling revision 2.0.

    Thanks again!
