    Intel part number: ABBHEATSINK

I also have asked for a quote from another place claiming to have them both new and refurb'd and requested quoted shipping for Auz, UK and US customers.

I've even considered using one to make some blueprints and getting a friend of mine to machine them up in his back shed (not sure about how fine a contact surface he can grind though) so we can sell them and make our fortunes.

I looked at the intel manual but did not find that code or im just confused. there 2ghz processors and ddr2 400 elpida 512 mb single sided dimms was trying just two in the top two dims on the board.

okay well tried one stick very where and was not happy then tried another and she fired right up. So im suspecting that stick is bad. Other question if I had four sticks if single sided memory would I just fill from the top of the board down for correct memory configuration. Thanks for your help with this also cant wait to have her up and crunching.

I had a problem with slot one( at top by 24pin) and use slots 2+4..
If I remember these are quad channelcapable of taking a totalof 16 gig BUT I've heard of issues above 8 gig..
THE person to talk to on this is gongo..

If you're going to fill the memory slots from the top down, make SURE you do it in pairs. If you fill an odd number of slots in the pattern 1a, 1b, 2a, then the last modules won't be read. If you fill them 1a, 2a, 3a then they will. The first pattern triggers the board to try and run in dual channel mode which makes the single module at the end the odd-man-out so it gets ignored. The second pattern keeps it in single channel mode so it's all used.

I found this out the hard way.

Lots of fours in the description, but only two channels I'm afraid.

    yup.

mem controller is on the NB.. theres only 1 NB, so theres only 2 channels.. if the MC were on the CPU like i7 then there'd be (2 CPUs) x dual channel = 'pseudo quad-channel'

If it were REALLY like the i7 wouldn't that be pseudo-hexa-channel?

Ok, just did some stats digging because ... I felt like it I suppose.

Currently BOINCstats lists there as being 62 "Intel(R) Xeon(tm) CPU @ 2.00GHz" CPUs running on WCG, that's 31 dual socket systems. XtremeSystems is listed as having 23 of those CPUs, or 11.5 dual socket Sossaman systems (wha?) There's also 3 of the 1.66GHz units listed for XS (is someone running a DP board with on 2.0 and one 1.66? How would that even work?? Or is someone running a system half committed to another project ) with 14 on WCG overall (7 full systems)

    iirc, no not possible to run 1x 1.66 + 1x 2.0 cpu
u can run a mobo with a single cpu tho

Yes, Origin, but I believe you need a blank for the empty socket. There could be two like that out there I suppose.
