Nice score radaja, only way to get the numbers up is to raise uncore or really drop the timings which for me afterx17 and 2:8 memory multiplier requires a bit more vtt and vdimm. for 24/7 i normally ran x16 uncore frequency, this new board lets me use x17 with good voltages, but in normal use cant see any difference.

yea im just happy to run 230 with uncore x17 stable.but now i can raise the uncore and get some nice 25K's or lower bclk and drop to cl6 and get some nice 1760 cl6 too

Trying your 230bclk radaja, using a 19 multi. also trying v26.3 P95, failed last night after 20min or so. having a hard time getting it stable today, this thing freezes up if i fart, will take some tweaking to get stable.

i tried first with +200 vtt and it would freeze about 26m in to prime then tried +250 and it went longer but still froze.
so then i said WTH and tried +150 and that solved it.im now doing 2hr solid with +125 vtt. so my cpu was obviously
vtt sensitive?im having trouble doing 19x230@4377 because it keeps rebooting because of lack of vcore but i just
cant understand why it needs so much vcore for this OC.i know you need more vcore for the same frequency
using lower multi's like 775 did but i just didnt think it needs this much.
    i can do 4.5GHz w/1.34v but i cant do 19x230@4377 with 1.36v to 1.37v?

i think your cpu has a great IMc and you only needed +50 for 215 so i bet you can do 230 with +75 to +125 vtt

i think its vcore also, i need 1.411v load for 4500 ht enabled. tried up to 1.388-1.399 load for 230x19 4.359ghz or whatever. pass 10 loops of linx and fail this blend in 20 min. now trying 26.4 p95, latest version.

i have become lazy with ocing, i use to spend every evening working on an oc and trying to pass a long blend run, now a few tries and i give up. i still believe a good blend run is better than linx.

edit, still failing, this makes me miss Clarkdale, 2 bumps in vcore and a bump in vtt gives you another 100mhz.

    did you try lower vtt?

well i got mine stable at 19x230@4377 w/1.38v vtt at +125
still dont like that it takes so much vcore for 4377?
but i guess it takes what it takes to get it done

    Good job radaja.

i may need a lot more, your chip is better, maybe it needs well over 1.4v.

i see you are at 230.5, so set to 231 in bios also?

idk how durable these boards are compared to the gigabyte ud7, that board has been awesome for a long time. afraid to push this thing to hard for long tests.

edit: seems to just get worse with each new try. i will give it a rest, if i cant get it stable ill give it a shot on the ud7 this weekend.

    yes i set 231.
and like mine got worse the more vtt i tried
but as soon as i tried +150 it worked and +125 even better
so thats why i asked have you tried using +100 or +75 at 230?

i tried lower but didnt help, temps are good at 62c load, just dont have the right settings yet. i wont run it at 230 24/7 so not a huge deal but would be nice to figure it out.

zsams, AC is a must for me, the wife is always cold so she turns the heat way up. I close the door block the duct and crank the window unit ac wide open.

This is my 24/7 oc and temps before the boss gets home and turns the heat up.

Edit: Just ordered a w3550, hope to get it by the weekend.

Last night after getting tired of trying 231bclk, I was trying to get a 3Dmark 06 run at 5ghz. Failed a few times at cpu test, then last time passed cpu test but at canyon flight it froze up, was pissed off. So today I get home and 230bclk fails instantly, sometimes just booting to windows it bsod's. I either destroyed my install or my 920 lol , glad it was a 179.00 chip. Had the vcore high for the 5ghz try, about 1.70v to pass cpu test. On water that was not the smart thing to do but it was so close I kept trying. I installed the 930 to see if it is still stable at the same settings as before.

Well radaja, you are the man, I give up on 230bclk for now. I may have to bow my head in shame and retreat back to the rex3 where 214bclk is awesome.

I am sure that my chip will do more. I just don't have the time to work with it. I have it crunching at the above settings. It pulls in about 30,000 WCG points a day.

    nice zsams.
man the xeon sucks. very poor clocker like the 960.

took a drive to micro center, also took my mother with me, she said she wanted to get Christmas shopping done . thought i would try the not so popular msi big bang xpower. bad choice maybe but ive never tried msi before and i like the layout. if it doesnt do well would still make a nice rig for the wife. i7 950 sale 199.99 so couldnt resist.
