Combine that with how much information they've released/leaked on Bulldozer when the chip is still a ways away from release... and I'm starting to lean towards either Bulldozer turning out to be more of a garden hoe. Especially since I highly doubt Intel is just going to sit on their hands for a couple years waiting to get "bulldozed".

I think anyone making a definitive statement today about whether one chip or the other will have the upper hand just shows that they don't know all the facts. On either side. Let's wait until everything is out to start making those statements.
While I work for AMD, my posts are my own opinions.

Sandy Bridge is an Intel product. Intel has different NDA, marketing, prices, etc than AMD has. It's very simple.

AMD almost never leak benchmarks to 3rd parties before official launch.

I've noticed that, definitely a different approach compared to Intel. As always, time will tell, but I think anyone saying at this stage 'XYZ will beat ABC' is full of it because there is next to no info regarding actual BD performance apart from slides, which I'll admit look impressive on paper...

I agree with JF-AMD, just wait for the chips to be released before making comparisons!

But with Thubans was diferent, first benchmarks info was about only 14 day before launch ! And this same is last years with graphics, began it with HD4000...)

beginning with the K5 in 1994, had their name inspired by Kryptonite,
the fictional element from comic books
that could bring the otherwise all-powerful Superman to his knees. In
this case Superman was Intel, whose
Pentium name was just catching on, but apparently no one took notice of
the fact that Superman is a good guy
and that only villains ever use Kryptonite. Yet the K has endured in the
names of various AMD chips for
nearly six years. AMD still turns out chips in the K6-2 family.

They are only assuming at the intention of why Kryptonite was used, or that K even stood for Kryptonite.

But since its on the interwebz, it must be true.

I guess the reason for that is called Shanghai. You saw Deneb benchmarks earlier because there were server CPU's already launched.
