Well the first time the 1.7.101 installed perfectly fine but now it does the same thing as the 102 and its really frustrating me that just the 1.6.109 works without any hitches.

    The error is:

    Installation aborted
    ___No Hydralogix hardware detected

NOTE: Praz slot one is not connected to hydra.

The only issue I have had with drivers involved ATI. For whatever reason the drivers quit seeing the 5870. The only fix I found was a reinstall of Win7. According to Asus and the manual slots 1 and 4 should be used for a dual card Lucid setup. Benchmarks seem to agree with this.

Do you have any hitches installing the driver as in after the restart? Mine after the restart it the windows will begin to freeze and sometimes it wont even get to logging in before it freezes. If Mac or chew could chime in.

No, not any issue at all. The following method is what I have been using since before the board was released whenever I change the configuration. Uninstall the Lucid driver. Reboot and uninstall the video drivers. If using both nVidia and ATI I reboot in between uninstalling the two. Boot into Safe mode and run Driver Sweeper. Reboot and install the video driver. An additional reboot and install if using both nVidia and ATI. Reboot again and install the Lucid driver.

Using this method I have benched the following configurations without issue with 10 games and 3dMark06/Vantage over the last couple of days:

    Single 5870
    Single 460
    Dual 460s
    Single 460 and 5870 together

I am currently benching hacked SLI with the 460s.

That would work except I have no stability in windows without the Hydra driver. This is just really annoying me and im going to take a break from updating for a bit till the new driver comes out to support Black Ops.

I would think a reinstall of Windows would get rid of the issues you are having. Video cards in slots PCIex16_1 and PCIex16_4 installing the 260.99 drivers and then the 1.7.102 Lucid driver.

Now should I use the chipset driver that is on the disc that came with the mobo or should I get the files from asus' dowloader?

I've been using all the drivers from the disk that came with the board. If there is an option of installing the USB Filter Driver don't install that.

Well I was looking at this board, but does anyone know if Asus will be releasing an updated version with a higher quality PLL that doesn't fluctuate?

I got between set HT and set HT + 1.9MHz during testing Add a 29x multiplier and suddenly you're fluctuating over 50MHz

Its unlikely that they will be releasing anything new until Bulldozer and the 9 series chipsets.

One reason is for the High binned chipsets so I could possibly get my 1055T to 4.0GHz as my FSB is holding me back on my 790FX-GD70. The other reason is for hydra and the chance to join the Hydra Masters.

What that board needs is a real full cover block, not that stuff I wonder if EK or whatever will release something better...

Tbh I think those blocks are pretty neat. Should be very low restriction with that design, and that's what matters for MB blocks imo

Think it was Mips that had a fullcover block...

No, they don't have any waterblocks for the Extreme design. I asked them 1 week ago and they said, that's not available, because the demand factos is too low.
