Asus is doing strange things lately.
BIOS 1102 has been out for enthusiast for 1 month or more, it was assumed to correct the cpu temp and they posted officially same buggy BIOS, with the cpu temp about 8 C° higher than cores and reacting like a snail.

    Thanks guys for responding.

The reason why i`m going with a BCLK of 210 is to increase my 7 980X performance as I have heard people say the higher your BCLK the better
the performance of the CPU, so i`m hoping my gaming performance doesn`t take a hit using this BCLK.

Core temps (tjunction) are accurate only at highers temperatures, when it can be compared with CPU temp (tcase). At idle temperatures, core temps are so inaccurate that they can normally be below the CPU temp.

Below 60~70ºC, the only acceptable way to measure the CPU temperature would be through the CPU Temp, which unfortunately does not work correctly on this motherboard, even with 1102 bios.

for some time I have problems with random freezes (sometimes several times a day and nothing in 2 or 3 days) have to turn off the computer at button

these freezes happen at any time (just after boot, once on the desktop when surfing in IE or FF, in Windows Explorer, etc. ...)

I retested the OC, stable LinX 30mn, hyperpi 32M, OCCT 1h
it's OK 3DMark Vantage and PCMark Vantage
I also freezes @stock (while AUTO in the bios)

I tested the SSD X25-E with Intel toolbox, no errors

It seems to be the R3E in question, is there a way to confirm this?

    thanks
    Sorry for my english

    Who said that ?
Question : Why do some overclockers switch into d*ckmode when money is involved

Remark : They call me Pro Asus Saaya yupp, I agree

Ah this would explain why I get those results haha.

Just a wild gues here man :Have you tried the rad in the normal way ? Did you hook up the pump to the board itself instead too the PSU ? What RPM does it read out ?

I might be wrong but i`m sure it's because of the CPU QPI speed goes up the higher the BCLK, therefore giving the CPU a performance boost and that's why people say higher BCLK is better.

Or am I completely wrong and misunderstood those people that say higher BCLK is better?

In R3E you can use a bclk of 133 MHz and have uncore clock at 4000 MHz.

Raising ONLY the bclk isn't giving any speed improvement.
By sure in some mobo it is the only way to increase some other parameters (like uncore clock and QPI link speed) that do help obtaining more speed.

Thanks mate for clearing up my confusion about BCLK.

I have noticed on my setup all my hardware has a rating score of 7.9 in Windows 7 rating system but my CPU only scores 7.8, so I was
wondering how much do I need to overclock to get my CPU score at the maximum which is 7.9?

    Thanks for responding.

How do 980x clock on this board! Am thinking of buying one soon! My 930i7 needs alot of voltage for 4.4/4.5 plus it would be nice having the unlocked multi! Is there a 990X coming soon!

It seems that Asus released new bioses for all there LGA1366 motherboards yesterday. All for "New CPU support"... which is kinda funny. I don't know why they don't say the real reasons. And admit to CPU temp problems.

I bought two Rampage III Genes a couple weeks ago. Both of them had problems with CPU temps getting stuck, or going really high, zero, or negative. I filled out a support ticket, and was told to RMA the board. I got another one, and it did the same thing. So I told them again. They told me to RMA the board. I had tried both boards with 2 different i7 920 DO's (both of which were verified with no issues in other boards). Both boards didn't work correctly. They told me to RMA the 2nd board, and that I should get a working one on my 3rd try..lol.. Meanwhile, yesterday they released a new bios, which I flashed last night. Now the boards doesn't have wacky CPU temps anymore. It's just off by like 20C from core temps (when it should be about 5-10C max).

I'm just happy to have a somewhat functional CPU temp now. At least you can base fan profiles off it. I just wish Asus would get their act together and actually communicate something worthwhile to their support techs, and/or us.

I was able to get a Vantage run at 4630Mhz last night so I switched out the 930 for my 920 D0. This thing runs great in my RIIIE. I am up to 226 blck with less volts than my 930. My 920 D0 is still scaling as I was able to boot into windows and run SuperPI at 230 bclk but crashed half way through so I have some work to do. My Kingston Hypers at DDR-1811Mhz 6-6-6-18 are still scaling with volts as well. This same kit of ram and 920 D0 couldn't do anywhere close to these clocks or timings on my P6T Deluxe V2.

I have been trying similar tests as you but once above 1800mhz c6 I lose a channel also. Seems no matter how much juice I give it, it does the same thing.

Nice results BTW, looks like you got a good board.

Currently testing cas 6 on this board am pretty pleased at the minute! Just my 930i7 lets me down abit in clock speed! Here what i have up to now! Fully Stable! Have been thinking about getting a 980X and a new psu!

I've now played with two gigabyte boards and have found that this setting allows for really nice clocks without a lot of voltage elsewhere...
