    Troubleshooting/fixing OCZ ModXtream-Pro PSU

    Hey guys,
This may be my first post on XS.. I can't recall. Anyway, I have an out-of-warranty OCZ ModXtream-Pro PSU. Any PC it's connected to will sit at CPU Initialization (red CPU light on EVGA boards, "CPU Initial" on ROG RC Poster) and fail to POST. Jumping the green to black on the 24 pin connector produces all good voltages, except the gray Power Good signal is pulled low. I have pulled ~230 watts on the 12V rails to load test and it takes it with less than 1% fluctuation in voltage. Has anyone seen this behavior before? What gives?

Have you measured voltages while it is connected to the mainboard?

You could try to open up the PSU to see if any component is fried, but be super careful not to touch anything cause (I believe) you can still get shocked by some components in there even if the plug is pulled.

Snip the grey wire and solder the mobo end of the wire to the 5v line
