Well the situation cant really be compared. With GTX280 they were on top, and ATI menace didnt seem strong. This time they had problems with GF100, GF110 seems to be just a small fix, and ATI, now AMD, is a big threat.

True, but then again, Nvidia is making this a GTX 580. And ATI is the one doing it wrong with the 6800's?

Whats really puzzling is abnormally high performance increase in Vantage , yet it doesn't translate to real world games what made it jump almost 40% over regular GTX 480.

wholy s.... It's the GTX480 I was going to buy back in april!

Sadly this is probably true. We'll probably see the GTX480 configuration become a 570, the 470 to 560, the 465 to 555, 460 to 550 etc.
