8800GT bios for better overclocking! *test*

I also have access to a used 9800gtx+ oc by bfg
now technically they are all 8800gt's right???? right up to the gts 250 etc??? (8800, 9800, gt, gts 512, gtx etc)

any chance i could flash either of these cards into thinking it was the other since they are both g92 with the same transisters and nanometers etc????

Sorry bro, you're wrong. They're all G92, but not all like the 8800GT

8800GT and 9800GT have 112SP
8800GTS 512, 9800GTX have 128SP

As far as I know, there is no way to unlock an 8800GT. No-ones ever done it, to my knowledge.

Both 112 and 128SP parts were refreshed to 55nm as G92b but that (for a nice change) makes no difference to inter-card behaviour they will still work with their 65nm stablemates as long as the BIOS is flashed.

Side note... if you want to submit on HWBot, please don't do any of these things. Submitting results with a card pretending to be another card is classed as cheating, regardless of matching specs
