    Yeah, I'm extreme now.

Can't really tell which BIOS is better cause I'm still testing.

ok, you saw a big difference between 970 and 980X (or is it just for fun )?

For me, the 0011 is slightly more stable than the 1102 with the same settings (I continue to experiment with the 1102)

I'm interrested by your settings for the 980X in 24/7 (when it's done )

Just for comparison sake here's some memory benchmarks at 1066MHz (ALL stock), 4.21GHz @1600MHz, and 4.21GHz @2000MHz

Starting from top left, going down:

    2.67GHz @1066MHz 8-8-8-20-1N
    4.21GHz @1600MHz 6-6-6-18-1N
    4.21GHz @2000MHz 7-7-7-20-1N
    4.21GHz @2000MHz 8-8-8-24-1N
    4.21GHz @2000MHz 7-8-7-20-1N

Well, I did saw a big difference, at least between my two chips. I guess it should be that way, cause 980X IS top of the line.

I had two random lockups today, while testing 24/7 settings @ 4.4GHz (unCore 4GHz, RAM 2280MHz). Could be BIOS. I'll try 0011, as it is my preferred choice.

I'll share settings once I finish testing.

As I said back at i4memory, very interesting to see 8-8-8-24 being faster then 7-8-7-20.

    Fan connector max amps

Does Anyone know how much current draw the fan connectors will take... I just ordered 2 120mm San Ace Fans that put out 137cfm for my Corsair H70... The ones now only put out 33cfm!!!

I need some more cooling power... Just don't know if the fan connectors will take the load of 890ma?

Can't find the specs anywhere... Anyone know?

    Thanks,

Yea the results are interesting and enlightening to say the least. I'm actually interested to see how your new memory kit at 2250MHz+ will compare to the rest

    I love this board

Just recently upgraded from my trusty q6600 and an old 780i mobo, I have to say I love this board already,
Only third time to boot since install and the 930 fires right up to a 4.5Ghz clock and stayed there solid for best part of the day.
Later while exploring the bios I accidentally rebooted to a 4.7Ghz clock no wonder it felt snappy, neither cooling or vcore or any other v! was not ready for that so fixed it quick.
Cooling wasn't tuned for 4.5 / LinX heat either. Fairly soon after 100% LinX load at anything above 4.2 with 1.35v cpu & 1.4 QPI or above the cooling collapsed and the test aborted,
need to work on getting more gas.

All the great things of this board that i just can't get over, yet the bluetooth needs ditching lol

    Hey... Thanks for that...

Was looking on the Web... Asus's site + a lot of reviews... Gave how many there were but no specs.

Didn't think of checking the manual... DUH!

    thanks,

I could use some advice plz ppl !
over the w/e I was having trouble booting, the post cycle would start in the normal way but just as the system was counting the ram it would stop and a second or 2 later try again, it did this some time back but fixed itself so I didnt really worry about it.
so the obvious thing to do was try different ram, no joy, so then I tried to figure why the primary psu was dropping out, couldnt see anything obvious so I changed it with a spare, still the same, also switched off all pci lanes apart from lane 1, no dice.
now with everything back the way it was I have a complete non start, all the leds sitting there ready but no fans, no psu fan, no post nothing at all, I can jump start both psus no problem by bridging the 2 pins.
luckily I held onto my RE2 so Im building that back in for now and I guess Ill have to RMA.
has anyone experienced similar post issues to this b4 ?

    cheers guys
    Rick

have you tried a higher IOH voltage (1.15 - 1.25v)?

    i need ~1.22 - 1.25v for stable 228MHz BCLK.

Edit: this was @ ~1.2v IOH and ~1.4v QPI

but maybe your CPU dont like more BLCK
