uhm I just try a new setting for my system !

I think that it's very good because all voltages are relay low

    i7 860 3906mhz 21x186mhz @ 1.264v (under llc, 1.248v in idle)
    ram @ 1860mhz 7 8 7 24 1t 85 1.632v
    pci-e 102
    vtt 1.26v
vpll 1.80 vpch 1.05 other on normal

20loop all ram (3400mb) passed with 50.8gigaflops and fast session of prime95... good

ho do u think about it ?

after 4ghz more cpu need a lot of volts to run stable

i think that with 1.4v you will not stable even at 4100

under prime95, what is your temp?

If you're disabling HT already, there isn't much you can do. I recommend using the Gigabyte tweaker, run Prime95 smallFFT, and adjust the BCLK up 1-2 notches while testing until you get errors. Then either bump the voltage, or back down. These chips tend to hit a wall at some point.

Ouch, can you post a complete template of your bios? If you keep everything on auto, motherboard tends to set way too high voltages for it...

it's not good use AUTO value for other settings of bios...

however if u want try 4.1-4.2ghz, first step is set 21x cpu_ratio

in this way u can relax the bclk, it's more easy

with 21x if u want can try

vtt (imc voltage or qpi voltage) 1.35v
    vpll 1.80-1.82v
    vpch 1.05v
vdimm 1.65v (u can read on stick your value)
    command rate 1t and pci-e 101

    with 191mhz and 21x you are @ 4ghz
with 196mhz you are over 4.1ghz

Yes. Also, VTT will be higher or lower to some degree depending on your chip.

mmm 4ghz is not bad over i think that only lucky cpu can run stable
your cpu want 1.36v for 4ghz i think that over 4ghz want like 1.45v, but i don't know how much it is safety

Why You dont give a little more settings, then only the VCore and tell us how You check for stability.

Hi everyone. I'm totally unexpert with P55 OC's, and I'm still doubtful on the CPU i have to take...I don't know which one is better between 860 and 870....i heard that 870 has a worse IMC respect to the 860....Now, I have already mobo+ram, MSI P55A-GD65 and Corsair Dominator GT 2133MHz 9-10-9-24 Rev 7.1, what do you suggest for me? Thanks ^^

there are not realy difference between i7 860 and 870

with 870 u can use +1x of cpu ratio and +2x of cpu ratio in standar turbo mode

but it is for extreme overclock, for 24/7 there aren't difference

only i7 875k can run @ 4ghz with lower vcore that other 2 cpu, but it's not sure... depends of your luck (there are i7 875 that requireds 1.36-1.38v for 4ghz...)

If you skim this thread and search around the internet you'll see that plenty of i7 870's are hitting 4ghz+.

I sincerely don't care about CPU Frequency, I'm worry about memory frequencies...I would push my ram to the limit, my admin pushed the same ram to 2600MHz+, I'd know what's the rate of getting a good IMC on a i7 870..

There's no difference between the three models out. 860s, 870s, and 875s are not binned to be better overclockers than others in any respect. It's a shame really. From what I've seen, ES 880s are very good if you can get your hands on them. As for IMCs, all four of the Lynnfields I've had, each one could do 2200-2300mhz easy.
