Hi BenchZowner. Thanks for the new "WinXP 3DMark edition". I have downloaded the RAR-files but can't extract them, it's telling me to insert a password. Could you please let us know this password or upload files that are not encrypted?

Sorry, forgot to mention the password in my latest post here.
    The password is:

    Code:
    www.benchzone.com
Pay attention to the filenames if you downloaded the files from RapidShare.
For a few hours I had a wrong file in that list, one of the files was a Windows 7 x64 image part.
If the password doesn't work, check the filenames, they should be "WXPx86X2.part1.rar" and "WXPx86X2.part2.rar"

Sorry but no, I haven't even started yet.
Main 24/7 rig is down, I don't have access to my RAID Array, and also got to finish at least 1 article ASAP.

Can't say when I'll have a new release ready because I really don't know what I'll have to do tomorrow, the day after tomorrow, etc.

    Hey Bill,

I've been working on becoming independent on my own stripping of bench OS's. I've gotten over to OC.net and read the guides from PizzaMan over there. And I've been using the "Bare-bones" settings of BlackVipers service guide. I feel they are a great place to start. Testing the memory usage difference and 3d/2d difference in overclocking apps in a Virtual Box with the default image and the stripped image. I've gotten a better understanding of everything, but some help to me and the community as to what "tweaks" you particularly do to increase performance boost over just the "bare-bone" settings of blackviper.

Anything can help! And I really appreciate your contribution /s to the oc'ing community.

Thanks a ton Benchzowner! These definitely help! Does the 3d version of XP have internet access though, so we can see '05 scores?

    Unfortunately not.
I always save the scores and submit them later on, I have no problems seeing the scores as I have the necessary licenses for the benchmarks, so not having any kind of networking components on any installation wasn't an issue for me at all.

Perhaps I can upload an internet connectivity-enabled version of the Windows XP x86 Xtreme 2 in a few days.

Gotta take care of quite a few things first though, sorry.

Hmm, I tried installing XP 3d and it wouldn't boot the cd. it did recognize it as a bootable disc though, and it tried to boot off the cd but it just wouldn't start. The XP 2d one works fine though. Did you forget some files in the XP 3d one maybe?
