    Any Newcastle OC's outthere ?

    Hey
I have just put a new system together. I have bought a Soltek Qbic with Nforce 3 250GB chipset, and have at the moment some Geil Golden Dragon. But they are soon to be replaced with som level 2. Anyway i wanted a A64 3200+, happily comming home from my little computer-shopping trip I assembled the system. After an hour or so, i found out that it was a Newcastle because of the clock on 2,2 ghz and only 512kb cache. But just now i tried to overclock, with the crappy soltek cooler that comes with the barebone i went directly to 2475 mhz without any increase in voltages besides the memmory. THe HW monitor comming with the barebone shows extremly high temperatures, but i don't think that it is that hot actually, because when i feel the heatsink it only feel a little warmer than my hand mayby 5-7 degress or something like that.

Anyone else who has a Newcastle have been OC'ing ?

is that reading the memory voltage or something?

cuz thats way too much vcore for air

can you see the light? is it shining too bright? can you see the light at the end of the tunnel, i know i do, i know its true.

Yeah that's an error in cpu-Z.
6# nice overclock. I have ordered a Zalman CNPSA-CU7000, i need som better cooling. Unfortenately there aren't especially much room in a barebone for cooling but it think i can fit in there.

Frede24 the zalman fits in it, riska (u know who i'm talking about) has a zalman in his barebone, the same as you. I just ordered my Soltek barebone today, but how is the soltek cpu-cooling ?? Is it more bad than the A64 stock-cooler ?? I've just sold my watercooling and right now im using the stock-cooler, and it's okay just for now... I also think that i'm gonna order the zalman...

Hi i just got me a 3000+ Newcastle

I got it Prime stable @ 2810Mhz so far, but working on getting further

New PSU on the way since yesterday i killed the no-name 300W i was using :P

Btw. Cooling with Mach2 filled with r404a.

Also i have a 3200+ that did yield another 100Mhz more than this 3000+ in my shuttle, so im exited to try it when my PSU arrives.

I"m running a 64 3000 cpu as a backup cpu untill my 3400 DTR gets here Thursday. Currantly I'm running 255 HTT and this is at 1/1 mem timmings. This wouldn't be a 1/2 bad cpu if I could only have a higher multiplier. My voltages that I'm ramming down it's throat are 1.85 v/core and 3.52 on the mem. It runs 22,700 with the default card clocks on a 9800xt and Sandra mem scores of 39++ If any one wants screenies they need to request them by Thur.

K32A: well the stock cooler pretty much suck. It has a cobber core, but the fan i not especially good.
I Have talked to riska, we are going to make some mods on my cpu and mobo. First of all i wan't to give 3,3-3,4 volts to the ram, after that i wan't a vcore mod. 1,55 just ain't enough. And last but not least i have plans to make a heatspreader mod.

I have just recieved my new ram today, mushkin level 2. When i put them in the barebone wouldn't load windows. Wierd i thought because it was set to default. Hmm just for fun i tried to change the ram timings to 2-2-2-5. And i worked. Don't know why it did nok work with the other settings.

Well, i've asked if i can come and then we can make the mods one day. Because the heatsink mod takes some hours to dry i think.

btw. how do you like the barebone ? Just recieved my Zalman Cooler......

Ok mine is very hot. Don't really know why. About 60 degress in idle. And it goes all the way up to about 80 degress....By the profile doesn't seem hot at all.

No it isn't....i think it is because Cool 'N Quiet i on. I keeps the temperature about 60 i think. Don't know why it is so hot. Maybe it is because it is a New Castle.

What bios are you using, i am using 1,3.
