^^ yeah, I've heard that too, but I didn't notice any different after rearranging my air-cooling that shaved 5-6'C on both SB and NB. Maybe WC can do better job, tho.
I've been tweaking signals, and using the lowest value (-31 on most of them) now, and it seams to help with some extra BCLKs. Still testing, but 19x206 seams to be in reach now.

I was posting to write this actually.
I've just downloaded the new RealTemp, and it can disable the C1E on both CPUs. Even if I disable the C-state in BIOS, all cores jump constantly up and down between x12 to x18 (which is visible in the picture below) at idle (and with w7 power at High-performance). I don't know if this is by design, or how healthy it is for cores to jump up and down like crazy. Anybody knows?
But unchecking the C1E box on ReaTemp pushes all cores on both CPUs to x19 (which is visiable as strait line in the picture below). I'm not sure which one is better, because this one adds 2-3'C to idle-temp and the power usage goes up to 95W vs 23.93W ( both according to HW-monitor).
Is this constant jump between x12 to x18 a natural behavior by design or an bug? I'm wondering if it can do some kind of harm in the long run.

Finally got the chipset/PCIe stable at BCLK206

The signal-tweaks with -92, -16 and -31 on the rest of them (except PCIe signal 1 & 2 = default) did the trick, and both chipset and PCIe is stable now. CB 11.5 is not scoring 27+ any longer, and 3D-applications are running fine too.

I've tried a few minutes Prime-smallFFT with vCore=1.20(load) and it didn't crash either , but I'm going to test the core-stability with overnight Blender 3D-render.
The core may need one (or tow) notches more vCore to get stable, but chipset/PCIe-stability has been the limiting factor for BCLK201+ so far.
Still testing, but so far so good.

New to the dual CPU setup

    Need some help here.
I've got 2 X5690 ES installed but can only see one in Win 7 64 bit home premium. I can see the 24 cores i device manager but nowhere else, why?
    This is what I got.

Tried now with Win 7 Ultimate 64 bit, same result.

    Probably a bad cpu!
Seriously, not sure why on this if 64 Ultimate won't see it.
You double check that jumper on the board for "one cpu"?

    Doubled and tripple checked everything.
I can see it in the bios and device manager but nowhere else.

Must be too cold up there for it to work..
Also, that socket temp of 60C is VERY high.
    That's what I got at 100% load at 4200+
At idle should be down in the high 30's to low 40's
Go into bios, shut off hyperthreading and see what you get.

    Problem solved

Needed to do a clean install of Win 7 enteprise for it to work

    Win 7 Home premium doesn't support 2 CPU's

Yea, upgrades are a mistake IMHO..
Leaves too many things from the prior install.
Always do clean installs on a freshly formatted drive.

Like any Norwegian would listen to an Irishman?
They still remember us as a country they invaded and conquered even though that was over 600 years ago..

Speaking of "Those" people in the far North:
Do you know how the Finn's used to settle arguments?
They'd tie a slave girl to a wall, stepback 20 feet and toss their battle axes at her.
The first to hit her lost the argument and then the men went back to drinking!

It really depends on the chip tbh man.... some run insanely low volts some take a lil more...

tbh, your running 2 cpus in close space so you might see a lil higher temp. but volts on Xeon are low so then again you may see better temps.

X5650 could likely do your clock with little tweaking, but the better you tweak it the better your payoff... (lower volts & temps)

Good to hear, my A0's are still stuck at x18 Uncore with A49.

    @Mydog
It's always a good idea with a fresh Windows-install when you change MB, specially when you get a new chipset.
It will be interesting to see how far those X5690's can OC. with x26 multi and unlocked Uncore, @5GHz should be within reach, if the vCore and cooling can follow though.

Everything is working as it should now with Win7 Enteprise 64 bit

Do you think a Monsta Lite is enough for both CPU's and MB or should I ad another 360 to the loop?

Good to hear it is up and running fine

Well, I'm an air-man and don't know much about WC. But these CPUs run really cool with moderate voltages. The MB doesn't need much cooling either, except that hot and nasty VREG on CPU#0.
I don't think you would need a monster setup to cool it for 24/7, unless you want to go for really high speeds and voltages that wouldn't make sense as sweet spot for 24/7 anyways.

Put a Fan on Vreg @ CPU-0 and all will be well man...

CPU1 vreg is attached to main chipset cooler via Heatpipe therefore can offload some of that heat to the main cooler.... the cpu 0 cooler is up there all alone so is gonna need some airflow on it...

then again man they can run without heatsinks without an issue at stock clocks/volts

not overclocking but at stock speed will run without sinks for the most part.

As for A0, A1, and B0 CPU uncore is locked, only on B1 CPU have we been able to set adjust uncore Via Bios

edited post above.... B1 will have uncore adjust other cpu's microcode on taht stepping is different which affects ability to adjust uncore

All retail should be B1.... should not be issue man, just some are really good, but alot are average...

tbh man most all of them clock really well, shouldnt have to worry.

200 Bclk is a lil tough to hit for 24/7 usage, but you only need 175 MHz Bclk to hit your 3.5 clock.... Im betting with enough time spent tweaking you could easily pull off a 24/7 monster

If you need any help feel free to let me or movieman know or any of the guys in here
