I know but for testing just ram there are much better tools, like memtest in windows. Blend is very good for testing AMD cpu's as it is testing the cores and the CPU-NB thoroughly.

I still can't get my head around the 8 hour Prime thing, two hours is more than enough for me. Prime for pleasure maybe?

When all the ram sticks are working full load, then cpu NB is working full load And come on, I had millions of times when cpu would fail after 5-6hours of priming.two hours is way too low Unless we are talking about different kinds of stability
My kind is being able to fold 24/7, 365 days a year, for other casual gaming sessions

tests shouls consist of 3hrs prime + 50 pass 20k linx that.

Prime find erros in NB/RAM very good, as linx is amazing for fine tunning your CPU.

    Rock and roll

Very nice chip you've got there Krjalone.
Particle's First Rule of Online Technical Discussion:
As a thread about any computer related subject has its length approach infinity, the likelihood and inevitability of a poorly constructed AMD vs. Intel fight also exponentially increases.

    Rule 1A:
Likewise, the frequency of a car pseudoanalogy to explain a technical concept increases with thread length. This will make many people chuckle, as computer people are rarely knowledgeable about vehicular mechanics.

    Rule 2:
When confronted with a post that is contrary to what a poster likes, believes, or most often wants to be correct, the poster will pick out only minor details that are largely irrelevant in an attempt to shut out the conflicting idea. The core of the post will be left alone since it isn't easy to contradict what the person is actually saying.

    Rule 2A:
When a poster cannot properly refute a post they do not like (as described above), the poster will most likely invent fictitious counter-points and/or begin to attack the other's credibility in feeble ways that are dramatic but irrelevant. Do not underestimate this tactic, as in the online world this will sway many observers. Do not forget: Correctness is decided only by what is said last, the most loudly, or with greatest repetition.

    Rule 3:
When it comes to computer news, 70% of Internet rumors are outright fabricated, 20% are inaccurate enough to simply be discarded, and about 10% are based in reality. Grains of salt--become familiar with them.

Remember: When debating online, everyone else is ALWAYS wrong if they do not agree with you!

    Random Tip o' the Whatever
You just can't win. If your product offers feature A instead of B, people will moan how A is stupid and it didn't offer B. If your product offers B instead of A, they'll likewise complain and rant about how anyone's retarded cousin could figure out A is what the market wants.

No need to. If it can pass Prime for an hour like this it is good enough for me, hence i didn't doo the required 8 hours Prime. Please do not quote images.

Zeus, really nice cpu you have . I have a 30min Prime95 screenshot at 4310MHz and 1.5V, but the temperatures were a little bit hot for my liking after about an hour, so I didn't pushed it forward and settled with the current frequency. I'm not sure it's still capable of doing it, because I had a better cooling at that time.

    @ah khoo

im using the same motherboard but with a 1055T. Just notice when stress testing with linx @ 4000 and 4100 frequency my cpu was throttling down. How bout yours?

cant seem to find how to disable cpu thermal throttling in bios (maybe there is no option)

finally got around to doing this for mine

CPU Model: AMD Phenom II X6 1055T
    CPU Stepping: unknown
    CPU Frequency: 3640 MHz
    CPU vCore: 1.368V
    CPU Multiplier: 14x
    CPU Turbo: 4290 / 16.5x / 1.52v?
    CPU NB Speed: 2600 MHz
    HT Ref Speed: 260 MHz
    RAM Speed: DDR2-866
    RAM Timings: 5-5-5-13-2T
    RAM Configuration: 4 GB (4 x 1 GB)
    RAM vDIMM: 2.20V
    Motherboard: MSI K9A2-Platinum 1.0
    Chipset/Socket: AM3, 790FX + SB600
    Cooling: Corsair H50
    Temps: 23C Idle / 45C Load
    Operating System: Windows 7
    32/64-Bit: 64
    Stable/Suicide/Untested: Untested

im using a bios temperature controlled fan speed, so at 40C its silent (50% fans speed) and by 45C its at 100% and noticeable, but not uncomfortable. if i left in on all the time my temps would be about 42C. i also left my exhaust fan at 50% which is probably not recommended if i wanted to see stable, but is my 24/7 setting.

    50°C at 4000+ mhz and 52°C at 4100+

at 4000 mhz the throlling happens seldomly but at 4100 it happens a lot. I think my ambient is 28°C.

Im stress testing with an open case and a big fan blowing on the motherboard.
