[TPU] dual juniperXT (5770x2 !!!) card from yeston

    http://www.techpowerup.com/132662/Ye...hics-Card.html

Now that AMD seems to have given the 40 nm Juniper GPU (on which are based the Radeon HD 5700 series models) a new lease of life, manufacturers can continue to get innovative with the Radeon HD 5770 GPU. One such board partner, Yeston, designed a Radeon HD 5770 X2 graphics card, which simply put, is a dual-GPU graphics accelerator that makes use of two Radeon HD 5770 GPUs, each with its own 1 GB of GDDR5 memory, that share the PCI-Express interface using a PLX-made bridge chip (perhaps the same one used on the Radeon HD 5970).

bit crazy thing but be aware that some sources says that this will have lucid hydra instead plx bridge (in witch i dont belive).

ES that dose not need to conform to pci-e standards.

i dont see the point in this, it cannot cost less than the 5850 or 5870, this is like the 2600xt dual all over again.

I don't see why it can't cost less than the 5870. On Newegg, a pair of HD5770s can be easily had for under $300. A X2 solution should be cheaper than a pair, right?

Well also, with only ONE SIX PIN, I am starting to wonder if this picture is just a photoshopped product..

i agree. this for 250$, and the reduced power consumption from being on one board, should let this card do great.

the power connector is odd, i hope that dosnt limit OCing horribly.

u can get 1 5850 for $240 right now and the price will only go down when the hd6 is out, it just seams like one of those things that is not vary good idea other than the stat sheet

Check out the components on the GPU, surrounding the die. They are not the same for each GPU. I call fake photo... One gpu looks like the components were sprinkled on...lol

edit: actually they are the same, just rotated.. but the components still look sprinkled on... i've never seen them all at different angles before, and not spaced evenly.

Well even though it sounds interesting on paper, it's still a dual GPU solution and as such prone to many problems related to multi GPU setups. Like various anomalies, stuttering, non functional second GPU in certain games etc etc. NVIDIA is not perfect but i can say that this is one of the things where i'ts clearly better than AMD. Unless the Hydra is immune to all this but so far i haven't even seen this multi-gfx chipset in action. I mostly sticked with single card solutions because of this...

Too late now that the six series is upon us but for whats it worth it if its cheaper than 5850 around 5830's price i guess i would be a choice.

this thing only makes sense because ati is keeping rv870 prices so high
launching this ahead of the 6K series sounds odd... it should be about the same as a rv940 in price and performance... but consume more power...
    weird move...

One of the best things about it that the card is quite short. And there should be no scaling problems!
