I will reinstall w7 in order to solve my issues shutting down my computer.
I would like to know, the ones with w7. Do you install the inf utility for chipset or any other drivers or just install windows 7 and thats all?
    I have w7 professional.

i've installed windows seven 64bit with AHCI mode enabled in bios and then, after windows installation was finished, i've installed chipset driver and matrix storage manager.
    that's all.

I had reinstalled w7 with ahci mode, also the chipset drivers but I couldn't stall the matrix storage driver, because an error turns out: "unable to copy files" or something like that.
And windows still being unable to turn off properly my computer.

I could solve the drivers problem, seting the exe file with compatibility mode.
But windows still being unable to turn off properly my computer.

Just for the sake of completeness:
I had my tRFC on AUTO and with higher BCLK the board did set it too low (58 should be too low for 1450-1600 memory frequency I guess)?
This caused cold booting problems and made my ssd slow (IntelBurntest/LinX and HyperPi: never a single problem).

So btw. I guess if you've got a fast SSD "winsat diskformal" might be a nice benchmarking tool .

Currently I'm running 21x191 with VCORE 1.276V and I guess I could go even lower .

switch back to the bios you are using before.
i found that D615 is by far the best bios if you are using a bloomfield CPU.

here is a list of all bios (stable and beta release) for X58 UT: http://www.mediafire.com/?43a05mjr9o6ve

D615 bios date should be 6/15/2010

p.s. in the link above there are some modded bioses, I've tested only D615MOD and it shows errors during post.
DON'T FLASH THEM if you doesn't have a bios programmer or another eprom.

great bclk try with qpi link fast mode disabled it drops qpi mutli to x12 maybe that can help for more!hey mafio about the 615 bios do you find more headroom for o/c than the 908 final?my 920 has some crazy-buggy post issues with the final one..but same o/c behaviour with both!

    hi UNSTABLE_HERO

to be honest i never tried D908 with overclock in mind, i had in mind a good daily use with CPU and ram at default with the lower possibile voltage.
    i had never overclocked with D908 bios but i wasn't able to get it working even at default settings (i7 920 @ 133 x 21 and OCZ platinum @ 1600 MHZ 7-7-7-21 1.7 volt)...
switched back to D615 and all work great, CPU was stable with around 1.0 volt and OCZ platinum did easily 1600 MHZ 7-7-7-21 1.65 volt.
with D908 no way to pass 1 minute of prime95 with those settings...

    explain a bit more
what kind of OC and post beaviour are you talking about ?

my cpu with both bioses makes 4285mhz with 1.312 load volts and rams(ocz 1866 9-9-9-30) run stable @1632mhz 7-7-7-24 @1.665v..but with the final 908 sometimes bios gets crazy and in cold boots reports error even with stock speeds..2-3 bios changes and i need clear cmos!i am going back to 615 but to be honest 615 and 908 was the best bioses for o/c my rams than the previous ones!i have them with normal dram pwm, vrefs +2.5% and CMD Bus VREF@ 100 i think our rams have samsung chips..

when D615 came out i noticed that it was by far the fastest bios ever made for this board.
it was also better than the previous in overclock, it was alot more stable at high BCLK.

here is the ICs used on my OCZ:

and that's what is printed on the ICs:
    128X8DDR3 WT
    1008

i didnt open mine but i believe they use the same i was wondering about ic's for tweaking the dram pwm from what i see over the net for the ut board
    -chip Micron--> Reduce 15%-30% / Nominal
    -chip Samsung --> Nominal
    -chip Elpida--> Increase 15%-30% / Nominal

i tried all but nothing was better so i left it at normal

i have no gain in stability tweaking DRAM PWM freq.
VTT PWM freq help a bit when uncore is really near the limit.
BTW, in DU no need to tweak those stuff...i use both of them at "normal"

some months ago i did a quick testing of these OCZ with CPU under single stage.
they did quite well for a cheapo kit

    2380 MHZ 8-11-8-28 // 2.15 volt

    http://valid.canardpc.com/show_oc.php?id=1264654

2500 MHZ 9-11-9-28 // 2.05 (this one is uncore limited)

    http://valid.canardpc.com/show_oc.php?id=1262979

they are also good for 2300 MHZ cas8 3dmark stable

wow, so DFI is still using a 2 year old option rom for the ich10r in their bios. Epic fail. I enjoy being limited to 2TB in raid in 2010...

Just tried this, and it didn't work. The site is in Italian, but here's the translated text. I was able to put the option rom in the bios and flash it, but after it would post, it would say something about no ahci or acpi bios found.

    http://translate.google.com/translat...al%26prmd%3Div

I was able to reflash the bios again to a working one.

Perhaps someone more experienced in bios transcoding can figure this out.

DFI not currently building consumer motherboards.

I have not seen a new DFI X58 series motherboard for sale since July 2010 in the Usa.
Back and forth from board to board it seems.

Sort of, they are strictly oem only now.
    No consumer boards.
Sucks but stuff like that happens.

No epox, no abit and no dfi :\.

    Btw @RGone.
Why does it say hacked under your ava ?, a joke or what...
Or did you hack poor RGone's account...

And if you are RGone, probably.. what have you been up to since the dfi crapout ?
