    speed sounds like a framerate thing to me. if its about enhancing video, i dont see this name being the best option.

    The first thing you describe is usually called scaling and the second is usually called a resolution change. Resizing is usually defined by clicking on the border of an window and dragging it so the window is a different size. If that's the case then it's just a shader customized for the windows aero desktop.

    the only thing we KNOW IMO is that naming something 6870 when it is worse than 5870 is a STUPID IDEA. so why expect them to do it.

    When I first heard the codename I thought "refresh rate overclocking", but there are other things that come to mind as well.
