Well, tested with Ares and it indeed sucks as how gaming goes at least in most of games since they dont take advantage of 16 cores, my thuban indeed does destroy these opterons when it comes to gaming think thats due higer clocks, so ill just first focus doing my server and gaming pc winter cooling project to end and then setup this arima proper way to wcg crunching, not shure tough should i put gtx480 there if i want do GPUGrid with it same time, i got 4 of those cards and 3 goes for my main gaming and work pc.
Edit : btw i used Corsair AX1200 psu's for this

I'm using an ATi X550.
When I power up the motherboard the NIC lights blink for a second along with the two LED's on the board.
I'll make a video of it in a minute.

Safe to say my board is dead then? I take it you sent it back and got another one?

This board is definatly a no go. Just tried running one cpu at a time - with no gpu - and it still sits there with those two leds on
Contacting whats-his-face through ebay is the next step me thinks

Well my board doesn't even have those LED's marked LED3 and LED4. They aren't soldered onto the motherboard!
Plus the BIOS battery holder is extremely loose.
I may also send mine back for a relacement as no matter what I try it will not go into the BIOS

I'll try the vid card route then. Be alot cheaper than sending it back. A tenner for a x550 - good deal?

Well i used Ares HD5870x2 so it should be working on this board, but doubt many people have ares card's.
I dont have those 2 led's eather, its just like anarki's board but without that OBEY bios screen and it does boot to windows.

Another for the X550 working in this board. That's what is in mine.

Dude a BIOS with ACPI support to be able to run windows? That would be awesome.
Um, don't know how I'd flash this thing though...

Well i need wait few days before i can run that board again, cpu's are crunching on 2 dual-socket machines at the moment.
Ill try later to dump the bios to usb stick, if this thing is able to even boot from usb sticks.
And yeah, windows is able to run in this board you need just drivers, i also had minor problem what i got trought doring windows installation, it said "not enought diskspace" but i had more than 140gb of free space
Think thats, negative.
Edit : Hmm.. what does HP do with arima boards??? Because i found out that this one is branded or customised, what ever you call it for HP.

Certainly sounds like you've got a special board there rintamarotta.
I bought that card - hopefully that'll solve it.

I didnt find the drivers yet, i just installed with different harddrive (no idea what was the cause of first one failing there), still i need few more drivers for this board to be able to take full advantage of arima in windows.
Think so, most other peoples seem to have OBEY customized boards.
Im going to also test Radeon X500 later on when i take WCG opterons down from server room to test more this board and hopefully im able to dumb the bios for you people to test but are you willing to take the risk of using my boards bios on your's since its customized differently.
