    9800 gtx BE RMA

My 9800 gtx black edition recently started producing severe artifacts. This is happening even during post and the mobo splash screen. By the time windows boots, the system is unusable. I noticed that the fan was spinning very slowly.

I contacted xfx tech support and an RMA was approved. Before boxing the card, I decided to try starting it one more time.. but this time there wasnt even a display. I tried an old 7900 gs on the board, and it worked fine.

Should I update tech support on the new development before I ship the card?

Also, since the 9800gtx BE is no longer in production, they may need to replace it with one that is. What card do you suppose they would consider to be equivalently performing?

They should reimburse you with a better card for the time being, then send you a 9800GTX BE if they get another working one from somewhere, much like here.

My XFX Radeon HD 4850 artifacts only during gaming and 3D applications, I've tested the card then the driver - the driver has all the errors. It used to reboot the system randomly until I updated the BIOS for the motherboard and update the display driver.

Sent it for RMA and they will update the working status.Yous saying is only an indication.Should sent you a newer nvidia card, maybe a gts250 or a 9800gt green edition which you should not accept.

I had overheated graphics, so i chose to reflash it with newest version for my 9800gtx. It was "fan" flash problem, didnt spin up while on 100% load.
All works perfectly fine 2-3 years now
