Seems like a nice sample if it needs 1.25 vCore only

I spoke too soon. It done 58 minutes 30 seconds and the machine hung. I realised one of my fans for my H50 was running a bit slow so I increased its speed by 10%. Ill do more testing now.

[EDIT] in system defaults in the bios under /power/voltage monitor it shows CPU VOLTAGE 1.085. I take it thats my CPU VID? Is this high or low for a 760?

[EDIT2] I managed to lower the temps by 2 celcius. I reseated the cooler again. I still had way too much TIM on the cpu. The stuff was everywhere. This time I spread the tim with a plastic debit card acrss the CPU until the CPU was completely covered. So this time I am confident that I have just the right ammount of TIM on the CPU because I was pushing down on the card while spreading the TIM. I will have to wait a week to ten days for the AS5 to settle now before the temps go down a little.

/\I have the same VID. Seems to be an OK batch voltage wise, but limited in how far it will OC.
    Mine runs fine with:
    1.2V for 3.96GHz [22*180]
    1.3V for 4.19GHz [22*190]
    1.375V for 4.29GHz [22*195]
    0.925V for 2.8GHz [21*133] + Turbo Mode

    Just a bit bummed I can't get a stable 200bclk, 4.4GHz would've been nice round number.......

I got it lowered by 6 celcius on 100% load by lowering the voltage to 1.21V and I have the CPU at 3.8GHZ. Ill give the AS5 to settle and try for 3.97GHZ (I would consider that 4GHZ) @ 1.2V. It passed 2 hours of prime95 small FFS. Next thing I need to do is replace the fans on my H50 because the one that came with it is OK for CFM and the other is loud as hell (motor whine) when its going hard.

Also my OS got a little bit corrupt from the few BOSD's I got (I think its because I am using raid0).

the few hot 100 degree days we had this summer. my 750 has ran hot.. i put it under load to check differences from winter to summer it went up to the mid 90's fast..

At first my 760 was hitting 80 Celcius under load but it was because I loaded up the CPU with too much TIM. So I cleaned it off and done it again but I still had too much TIM on my CPU. This time P put a tiny ammount of TIM on the CPU and spread it on the CPU until the CPU was barely covered by a light layer of AS5. If the TIM was any lighter on the CPU it would almost be see through lol. I made sure all the CPU was covered. Its just that one core thats getting too hot. The others never reached more than 68 C while that one core was 72. With this lower voltage theyre only 3 celcius appart.

    The AC5 is settled and I am running my 760 @ 3.9GHZ - 1.2V - 65C - 100% load. Passed Prime95 2 hours. Thats stable enough for me.

VTT is IMC Voltage and vDimm is DRAM Voltage in your BIOS
Or you're searching the explanation what are those voltages?

How far is smart to go with voltages on i5 750(for benching)? I was running 1.480V and my hottest core was 62°C after 20 passes of lynx. Does high QPI frequency hurt's stability?

As long as the CPU reacts good on the voltage, keep pushing it. You're on water cooling right?
That's pretty high voltage to run linX test on it. QPI effects the stability of course so try to lower it and than find max CPU. When you find that than go for higher QPI frequency.

Hi guys, this is my setup:

    MB: Asus Maximus III Formula
    CPU: Intel i5 760 + Noctua NH-D14
    RAM: Corsair DDR3 4GB

And I've easily got to this result:

    Lucky chip?

amazing! have you increased Bus speed above 200 with lower multi? lets say x19.
i noticed that 760 can reach easily 220 but i don't know about stability

222BCLK seems ok, prime 15min OK, 223 freezed after 5min.
with 1 core 228 superpi OK. 230 freezed.

May i ask what should be our goal? to reach higher core speed with less Blck or the other way?
    for example: 19x220 =4180 is better than 22x200 =4400?

    Question Few questions

Guys, I've been running i5 750 @ 2,67 GHz with Gigabyte P55-UD6 mainboard and 2 x 2GB DDR3 G.Skill Ripjaw Series 7-7-7-21 @ 1.5V @ 1334 MHz (XMP profile). I wan't to moderate overclock my computer without touching voltages. As as understand BUS speed controls CPU, Memory and QPI link speed. Of course, you can set ratio, so if I manage to set up my memory at same speed I don't have to touch voltage, same for i750, cause I know it can go higher with default voltage. One thing that intrests me is QPI link. Lot of people told me is that's better to have it around default values. Is vtt voltage connected to QPI link speed? I mean if my QPI link goes higher I need more vtt voltage? Also, what are good number to keep QPI link speed?
