You guys base these arguments on your first hand experience with this pot or just making them up

If you just put small paper around the bracket, you will not see any issues.
Do not make the problem, if there is none.

I have seen and done really long sessions with this and never had any issues about this ice thing.

I base my knowledge on first hand experience of benching LN2 period

Bottom line I think these guys are saying, ICE on top = Ice in pot, which turns ln2 milky which absolutely 100% effects temps.

Take this from a guy that 99% of time is always shooting for max temps.

Now if you don't like it guys there is this cool stuff called rubberized under coating, sprays the bracket call it a day.
