Still sticking with Asus though but that means if there is no update soon I will be forced to spend another 300$ on a new mobo and ddr3 ram when I love my current sticks of 8GB DDR2 1066MHZ, and also I have TRI SLI GTX 260 Core 216's
Ya same exact position as me and for the same reasons. The only caveat for me is that I have an Xfi card and cant use it and tri sli. Gettting Asus's 980a probably wont do anything as the 780a and 980a are effectively the same chipset.

If you are looking for a "fix" it would be the MSI board but I am hesitant to buy it for same exact reasons you don't. However what I am being reminded of throughout this process is why I loathe AMD motherboards. My next setup will be back to intel I think

    Also pic very related:

^^ My last AMD motherboard circa 2005 back when S939 was just released... ya that didnt end well and is why I spent the next 5 years on Intel. I feel history repeating itself again...

Full load with LLC on both CPU & CPU/NB
    Bios 1102
    Prime95 blend
HWiNFO32 (checked with multimeter-it is very accurate readings)
    About 30min monitoring

    Hi-Bios:
    CPU: 0.058
    CPU/NB: 0.046

    Hi Avg-Bios
    CPU:0.051
    CPU/NB: 0.039

So it seems like they improved CPU/NB, but about the same for CPU as previous bios(es)

i still can't understand those with a 1090T are OCing with bios.
use k10stat and you can OC bios-independet. just use the default-values in bios and raise the VID with K10stat. sure, no possibility to raise the clock from 200 to 2XX (therefore with the 1055T you cannot do this), but guys, you have a CPU with an open multiplcator, use it!

altough bios for M3N-HT (I also have it and I also wait for a better one, especially cause of the missing P4-state) is crap - it boots with a thuban-CPU and so we have won with the black edition CPUs ...

I am using MSRTweeker to get to 4ghz but I want my HTT in the 250ish range like I had on my previous board and chip since like you I have multiple GPUs. The point remains the same it needs to be fixed

sure, but it is not necessary to cry around like "its absolutley unuseable, intel is much better, ..." - it is useable, there are minor but annoying bugs which should be fixed, but it is working already yet too ...

    Thanks..... Dave
    Dave.

Say your benching vantage. You find that you can run the bench untill you hit cpu test at say i dunno 4450, but cpu test crashes, after further testing you find 4200 is stable through cpu test. You boot with your HT lower at 4200cpu, slide the clocks to 4450 run vantage, right before cpu test you drop clocks down to 4200 again with HT slider. Congrats you just boosted your GT1 and GT2 scores while being able to pass cpu test at it's known stable speed

On the other hand I'm using 16GB of memory as advertised in the motherboard specifications and the system takes several attempts to boot, becomes unstable at heavy load over a period of time and will not overclock at all.

So it really depends what you're trying to accomplish.

So your hammering the memory controller than. As you may well know, when all dimms are full you must downrate your ram.

I have full DIMMs and no downrated RAM, BIOS adjusts settings itself when you select stock speed (1102), never heard of a friend doing such thing

From my initial testing on air, 1102 is no better than the previous bioses & the bouncing things still remain unsolved. It seems to me that there're new ram divider issues on this bios!
C4F is a good board....What seems to be the problem?!
Please get people to help out, would you!

    I agree Mad....
And bios 0055b isn't much better either.
To their credit they have gotten the floating HTRef down to around 3Mhz (mostly), but still that can kill your OC when your pushing the limit....

We really need a solid HTRef and percentages for LLC overvolt on the CPU and IMC.

They're obviously working on it, but with 6 weeks between releases I'd hoped for something a little better too...

I still can't believe my Asus 890gx board was more stable than the Crosshair IV formula I had last week!!! - Needless to say - I returned it for a full refund today and went back to the trusty M4A89GTD/Pro-usb3

It was on basic 0901 (which I later tried with 1005) and I could see the bouncing vcore!! On a couple of occasions all three vcore sensors buggied too!!

On stock my CPU never used to go above 1.32v - With the Crosshair it was always jumping around from 1.42 down to the usual 1.32 (but never went as low as the 1.28v I get for stock on my 890gx).

same here with 1102 (and before that 0905). htref is constantly 200.7, only core speed fluctuates between 4013.4-4013.7.

Crash the system benching it hard a few times and you will see the HT ref bounce on 0905 bios...........unless i got a bad board which I doubt. That would mean 4 boards were bad......

Under the M4A89GTD Pro Bios DL section at support.asus.com There seems to be a typo. There is a 1456 BIOS as the latest, but a 1606 on there as well. My guess this is just a typo. I sent word off to Bingo, but I have not heard from him in some time.
