I think I have here the worst clocking 860 in the history of time! Three lap jobs later (Yes, three... 20+ c drop under load from stock at over 1.3v), and 1.392v through the thing gets me tentative stability at 4ghz, doing smallFFT at 84-86-83-85 with my megahalems.

Temp idel 35/37c an load is 52/54c rum temp 20c

Are you referring to the picture of your motherboard and the volts showing on your volt meter or the excel screen shot that shows the information based on the MSI instructions for the board?
I just need your settings in the bios i.e. what do you have in:

CPU voltage
CPU VTT
Memory voltage
Spread Spectrum

Please advise.

now

setting:

183blck x 21x ratio
vcore 1.248v
vtt 1.22v
vdimm real 1.62v

other voltage default

vga 725/1000 (stable i'm sure)


now, i pass all test with this setting, prime95, linx (all ram) and memtest

i run that test more time, always without problem BUT

when i play , randomly the sys crash with bsod (hal.dll 12903 error
124) uff

now i have try to upper vtt @ 1.24v, i think that the problem can be pci-e
controller and relative voltage

what do u think ?

ALL bsod was appared in gaming

with 1.20v i'm sure that the systems isn't 100% stable (linx low gigaflops) but with 1.22 it runs ok

is it possible that i must set 1.24v for only 183mhz?

i can run 3850mhz with 1.248v (and it's good) but with vtt...

now i will try @ 200mhz of blck (in this way i can set my ram @ 2000mhz ...) but uff ... i don't like vtt so high

What temperatures You have and what VCore would he use for 4Ghz and Linx, what would be maybe good for 24/7?
Also if You like, tell me Your other Voltages like IMC and PLL.

drove a year with my old cpu with long hear Vcore / VTT also whit watercooling, without taking damage.
the old cpu ned 1.488 to do 4.2GHZ

Strange, I could do 240MHz BCLK with 1.475V VTT I believe.

Martin.v.r, are those settings, what you have in the BIOS or what the GPU-Z is showing you?
And do you have set for memory volts and freq.

Vcore not fit in the bios on my motherboard, but CPU_Z shows the same as I can measure on my motherboard, and it is only Vcore with the error

bios set 1.506 = true 1.440v /1.512 = true 1.456v

may happen that other people have the mistaken/error with the motherboard.
otherwise,I have again error whit voltset on my motherboard.
I tried with all BIOS, it has not removed the vcore bug.

I got an new beta bios to day,but my Vcore bug, is still here

Strange, I could do 240MHz BCLK with 1.475V VTT I believe.

not all chips are created equal
my good i3-530 could do 253bclk w/QPI@5060 ddr3-2024MHz with 1.35v vtt
and 1.25v vtt for 200bclk

my bad i3-530 needed 1.36v vtt to even boot at 20x200@4000 ddr3-1600 QPI@7200

19x253@4807 DDR3-2024 10-11-10-24 1t QPI@5060

I have also had problems with Blck with this cpu, hoping the new beta bios can help.
one to perfecting it looks good, have just driven 210 Blck, I could not Regt before.
my old cpu, could Blck 230 but max 4.3GHZ at 1.56v. man MAX whit DISE 4.4GHZ
I'm very glad that had a CPU that will overclock high at low Vcore, but perhaps not a good blck, but now I play with the new bios, so let's see

i know the feeling,with my second i3-530 it did 4.5GHz w/1.36v vcore but needed 1.40v vtt for 215bclk.
its a rare thing to have both a low vid chip and a strong IMC with low vtt.i had it with the first i3-530
but now i regret selling it

@ bclk di 183mhz and ram at 10x therefore 1830mhz i can set timings @ 7 8 7 20 1t, 7 8 7 24 1t and 6 8 6 24 1t

the problem is that i can't see difference in bandwith between 7 8 7 24 1t and 6 8 6 24 1t

same read, same latency with everest

why ? is it possible that memory controller limited my ram?
