    3D Mark Score

I recently upgraded to 2 GTX480's in SLI. I ran 3DMark to benchmark my new setup. The thing is, my 3DMark score is lower than when I had 1 GTX280 running. Why would two 480's running in SLI score lower than 1 280 running alone? Are my cards bad? I haven't had any issues when playing games.

Is GPU-Z showing both cards enabled in SLI and running at 16x?

Are you OCing your CPU to 4.2 GHz or above?

Yes, both cards are utilizing SLI and both are running at PCIe x16. My CPU is a stock 2.6 GHz because I can't O/C it.

No one has any ideas as to what may be causing this?

The newer cards really do not help in 3DMark06, but do in Vantage.

Newer cards just work better with higher resolution displays and with the eye candy turned on.

    My 3 HD4890s in 3Dmark06 still score better than 4 HD5870s and 2 HD5970s.

    Also 3DMark06 is CPU limited.

Good to hear. I didn't want to even think that one or more of my cards were bad. I have Vantage. I'll run that and see what I get.
