Quad socket board group buy V2.0

I got a reply back from Amit, he reckons he has around 100 boards

Discount on bulk buy as stated... so who wants another Arima F3000 quad socket board?

As I live in the UK its best that the boards get shipped to one of the USA guys and then redistributed to Europe (I think that's what happened before)

If the organizer can accept bank to bank wire transfer and willing to send the board to Indonesia please put me on the list.

So what would be the price? I believe that shipping to Ireland will not be much...

OK. One for me, but it depends on price! (Believe me, PhD students have no bank accounts in Switzerland...)

What do you mean? Everyone has a Swiss bank account

Seriously though, it's exactly as Shoota said.
I sincerely hope that Duh's original thread has generated enough interest to get this one off the ground.

What are we looking at for price per board? I know we'd need Opteron 83xx's, but anyone have details for RAM? I've got a bit of regular DDR2-800, but we'd need DDR2-800 ECC?

Are we also doing CPU's in this buy? If so, I'm eventually gonna need 4 cpu's and a few sticks of ram too. A board will be good to start with

I'm finding out a price for 160GB of DDR2-PC6400 ECC ram. (160 x 1GB sticks) Also trying to currently source 80 Opterons as well.

That will be enough for 20 people (4 CPU's & 8GB ram each)

Motherboards and CPU's from USA, memory from UK. I have no problem looking after the memory side of things and shipping out to everyone.

    I'll keep you all informed

Wow that was quick! Just got a reply from the seller of CPU's.

I'm currently negotiating prices with him for 8347's or 8354's shipped to continental USA.

I'll tentatively express my interest, pending pricing. I looked on eBay and saw that the 2.1 Barcy's can be had for $50-60/ea and I already know that 1GB DDR2-800 ECC can be had for ~$25. If the UK RAM could come out significantly lower for either 4x1 or 8x1 (perhaps $15(£10)/gig), then I'd consider it. Would I be right in estimating that 4xBarcy@2.1 would net about 4100 BOINC PPD?

8GB of ram seems a bit excessive for dedicated crunching boxen. Most of us got 4GB last round, iirc?
    Main: i7-930 @ 2.8GHz HT on; 1x GIGABYTE GTX 660 Ti OC 100% GPUGrid
    2nd: i7-920 @ 2.66GHz HT off; 1x EVGA GTX 650 Ti SSC 100% GPUGrid
    3rd: i7-3770k @ 3.6GHz HT on, 3 threads GPUGrid CPU; 2x GIGABYTE GTX 660 Ti OC 100% GPUGrid
    Part-time: FX-4100 @ 3.6GHz, 2 threads GPUGrid CPU; 1x EVGA GTX 650 100% GPUGrid
