Will you be hooking up to the "Big White Box"?....I hope so because I'm curious as hell about all the numbers that setup will produce...from temps to speed to boinc and I feel some vantage runs etc would not disappoint either .

You will need a holiday just to get this going

Glad to hear your back and safe jcool, I am very curious to see your temps once you get her up and running. Most of all your vreg temps with the EK fb block, I may very well purchase that fb block to replace mine depending on how your temps look

Mine has been crunching strong and I love it .... I'm sure you will too

Yeah, sorry - I spent a few hours on the build today, but ran into problems with that MM Ufo case... it's pretty flimsy and not as well-made as I'd like... certainly not German engineering :S
Anyway, the tray was all wobbly so I had to manufacture my own secondary support angle, which pretty much ate the afternoon. Then I had some friends over for dinner so I didn't really get to finish it... pics tomorrow, promise!

Wow, that was more work than I imagined.. mostly thanks to those slackers over at Mountain Mods
I had to basically re-engineer the whole damn mobo tray mount so it wouldn't break down under the load of heavy hardware There were also some minor annoyances like missing motherboard standoffs (SR-2 needs 11, 9 were supplied even though I ordered the special SR-2 ready tray ), and so on.

I also had a small leak in one of the EK GPU blocks, someone at the factory apparently forgot to tighten the screws all the way down

Anyway, the beast has been up & running for a few hours now. Fresh Win7 install + all the basic programs are there, now it's time to do an Acronis backup (in case I up the OS) and get to OCing

Pics are crap due to my POS camera, I really need to get a new one. Anyway, here's the "hardware core"

    Yep, Dual 5870's
TBH I was pretty much satisfied with the performance of one 5870, but then I had this 2nd card lying here, and I thought to myself - meh, one card looks kinda puny, you need at least 2!

Anyway, still trying to get the hang of this board. Seems it undervolts/droops the Vcore pretty heavily, almost 0,08V lower than bios set
No wonder I got BSODs with the first few tries.

E-Leet is very nice though, you can adjust settings on the fly if LinX or prime throw an error. No reboots needed, just like with Abit in the good old days

Temp readings are a little off, CPU 0 reads too low (idle 5C lower than water temp), VRM 1 is too low as well. Need to play some more...

Now let me see..( time to harass a friend)
What are those things you have in the memory slots?
Can't be memory in the ones in the other left.
    Never heard of them?

Then those waterblocks. You make those yourself or were those a kindergarten project at a local school?
Are they MIPS( Mentally Impaired People)

    Last, that board block..
On a proper one like I have there is just an intake and output..one each where yours has this extra tube that needs to flwo over the board like it's lost or something..

Now to be serious, go into BIOS and set "Without V Droop"
Also vcore will run at 1.69 if you set at 1.65 so keep that in mind.
vrm 0 is the one to watch out for and seeing you have that wimpy board block you might want to get a fan on it..

Oh,did I say looks good and best of luck?

Hell yeah.. Compustocx Germany, one of the biggest OEM suppliers for Apple Mac Pro's. This kit is rated for 2000 C9 at 1,65V - like the Gskill PI Black Kit (1600 C8), they carry Samsung HCF0 chips, which is why the 2 ram kits are a good match

SR-2 is stable as a rock at 4.3 - too bad I have to work or I'd start benching right away

That looks good, you got good stuff there.
My VRM1 is low too, both at idle and load, on air. But that VRM0=61'C seams to be too high for idle. Mine idles at ~40'C and shoots up to ~63'C under prime-load, with a fan blowing right over it. I got much lower vCore and it may play a role too, but it seams to be too high anyways.

Your system and systems2 temps looks really good, and that means your WC-setup and MB-block is working good, but maybe that VRM0-block needs some adjustment?, or maybe that's just the normal affect of higher vCore?
