You may need to raise the north bridge voltage if your system isn't stable at PL5, but that is normal.

Just run a loop or too in memtest + and then a 20 loop on intel burn test or the like. That will tell you if you need to rash the NB voltage any.

BTW, what cooling do you have on that processor of yours?

While Lin-pack does cause your cpu run much hotter during stress testing, the trade off is that it will tell you far sooner if your system is stable. Minutes vs up to hours that it would take with Prime 95.

I don't have first hand knowledge with the 45nm C2D, but 1.3v+ seems high for 3.6 with your stated cpu.

Did you adjust your performance level down to 5 instead of 8 like i suggested for that boost in memory performance?

I ran Prime95 w/o issue for at least 8hrs [I do not know what happened to screen shot].

I will find out the appropriate voltage from Intel.

I will try PL 5 again, but it would not POST...

Intel Core 2 Duo E8400 voltage range

Intel voltage range for E8400 0.8500V-1.3625V from their website.

I will give them a call too.

I wouldn't worry to much about Command Performance Level below 7. You'll get more out of a higher FSB. Go back to Command Performance Level of 7 or 8 and lower you DRAM Frequency so that you don't go past 1066. If you have the same G.Skill I do (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16820231166) no one gets them much past 1066. See if you can get your self to 450 x 9. You also using memtest86? http://www.memtest.org/

If you have the same G.Skill I do (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16820231166) no one gets them much past 1066. See if you can get your self to 450 x 9. You also using memtest86? http://www.memtest.org/
    Hi ShawnTRD,

I have moved the Command Performance Level back to 7.

We have the same G.Skill RAM. The DRAM Frequency has always been set to DDR2-961. Is there anyway i can get DDR2-1066 back?

I will run Prime95 overnight. I will run memtest86 in the morning.

    Thanks

It test all sticks installed. If you get a error then try one at a time to see if one is bad.

    Hi,

Where did you get this small 60mm fan? I need something for my SouthBridge that will fit under my long video card.

I am using an 'Antec Spot Cool System Cooler' over the NorthBridge.

I tried 450 FSB and it would error out...overclocking failed...

    Thanks,
    NBK
