When you put in your 1055T, do you load optimized defaults?

Ok guys, I haven't dealt with an AMD setup in awhile and I am running into some issues. I have the Biostar TA785G3 and the 1055T. I replaced my 435 Triple Core with it after making sure I had the latest bios for 6 core support. First in the bios default CPU voltage shows 1.42v, sound right? Second, it will not boot into Windows, it keeps crashing, again this is at default settings. Any ideas?

Specs are:
1055T
Biostar TA785G3
2 x 1Gb Patriot DDR3 1333Mhz ram
Windows Home server
On Board GPU

I can stick my 435 back in and it boots fine, am I missing something here?

I have the same board with a 1090T as I wait for my dfi update.
The stock voltage is 1.378v under full load across all cores on default settings.
When turbo kicks on core will go up as high as 1.5v and idles at 1.23v

When I tried overclocking the motherboard it would give out at 3.8-3.9ghz 1.42v on full load but was fine at 3.8ghz 1.4v.
However the mosfet's get extremely hot and I have added heatsinks on them with a 120mm fan blowing right on them.

I backed off the overclocking and have it running at stock crunching away.
I believe since the board doesnt have 4to1 pwm, only a 125w rating, and no mosfet cooling that you will find overclocking very limited with it.
This proved true when I overclocked my 955c3 as well.

Stay under 1.42v as much as you can and turn Turbo off when overclocking if you havent already done so. Touch the mosfet too after full load and you will see what I mean.

Being as I have the same motherboard and bios.
If you want me to post up some step by step pics on what to set the bios to I can get you to 3.5ghz 1.38v fully stable with ease. Just let me know.

Thanks guys, I will give those suggestions a try tonight. I probably won't overclock it much, maybe to 3.2Ghz. This is my media server and WCG cruncher, so stability is more important than anything.

I hope this is the right thread to ask a couple of questions about getting the new Phenom X6.I have Thermalright Ultra 120 Extreme + 2 x SSFLEX 68 cfm, case is Cooler Master HAF932, is this enough for doing like 4200 MHz (or more) on air with the 1055T? Many people suggested that 1090T needs sub-ambient cooling, and I think I`ll save some buX from the CPU and get a better MoBo - the Crosshair IV Formula.And finally, please recommend some good batch, as I think of selling my Intel rig and go back to the Green home (with far less green spent than a i7 rig).

Well U120EX with dual fan should handle it nicely with 1055T

It kind of depends.Thats good cooling and should be sufficient.
However, if youre after rock prime stable
a)you must get a good mainboard that will get you stable HTT/dram freq
b)Have a bit of luck, not all of them gonna do 4.2 air stable.Mine for example is good for 4.1,but not on mine mobo...
4ghz are pretty much guaranteed tho.
