Insulation for water block is finished!

I have been trying to figure out the best way to insulate my water block and now I think I have it figured out

this will be used in a setup with a chiller that hits -24c (or less)

also the water block is an Intel 775-1156-1366 block that I made an adapter for

How low are you going? That acrylic top is going to be a no go.

If you have a cooling question or concern feel free to contact me.

-24 is about the limit of my chiller, however I tested the block for several hours and had no issues, I might be ordering a metal topped block soon

Great pictures, thanks a lot for sharing.

I will be using blue foam instead because it's available.

I just need to grab some long screws with the same thread, some nuts, cut the heads off the screws, and make a hold-down plate for the foam. I'll hold the block down with four nuts and then the foam with 4 more nuts.

I'll post some pictures here next weekend. Hopefully Thursday night I'll be home from work.

Brings back memories... that is the block I used for my first chiled water project.
