Ummm.... What happened to ya Bingo13?

I'm sure you folks have a good bios crew, and I trust the fact that you've been working on LLC & Voltages (which seems to be the biggest problem from my end )...

I'll be your guinea pig bro even if I can't flash back...
    I trust you guys!

    Waiting somewhat patiently,
    Dave

    Update -

Sorry guys, had a bit of trouble getting home and a bad bug to boot. I will have the BIOS' released today except for the C4F where we are still trying to confirm a voltage setting with Turbo Core Mode off but LLC on when running VCore above 1.4V.

So new bios for all boards but the best
Man, what a slap in the face by ASUS after purchasing a top of the line board (C4F).

What happened to the swat team approach

    1. We are taking a SWAT team approach on each board with the AMD BIOS group. The emphasis will be on addressing the top problems with each BIOS/Board combination and moving to the next board on the list. The following boards are in the first group -
    a. Crosshair IV Formula
    b. M3A79 Deluxe Series
    c. M4A79 Deluxe Series
    d. M3N Series

I expect the first supported Beta BIOS releases early next week.

Not only that, but they have to rebuild a BIOS from the ground up using different code.

If that doesn't wrap around your head, you need to do some research.

First of all I have been watching this thread since it started.

I understand it takes time for the bios creation. What I dont understand is why ASUS keeps popping in promising a release and making it sound like it will be next week, any day now and so, then to only blue ball a guy. Look at the history of the posts yourself.

If its not ready so be it, If the SWAT team got killed so be it, just dont be cumming in here saying other wise is all I am saying. If the bios is challenging say so, dont keep telling me your going to pay me next week only to make excuses again when the time comes.

Now that I know ASUS is premature with their announcement I know how serious to take their statements. AS for the CH4 bios, will get it when I get it.

Just tried M4A89TD Pro 1003 bios...
worked good for ram, did DDR3-2200 on air with 1055T
    http://valid.canardpc.com/show_oc.php?id=1328019
but one issue is, CNQ cannot be disabled, if I set voltage tuning to [manual], itbecomes gray like this, but CNQ is still working, if I set voltage tuning to [offset], and set CNQ to [disabled], CNQ still working, too, I really dont like that.

    Hey Bingo13,

I'm not going to pretend that I understand all the complexities of programming a bios. But I have a suggestion...

I know you folks said bios memory space was a problem, and since the biggest hassle (at least from what I've seen) is voltages going too high when LLC is enabled.
Wouldn't it be easier just to put a drop down menu for LLC (CPU & IMC) that limited the max voltage that could be supplied when LLC is enabled?

It wouldn't be the best option for the common man, but for overclockers I think it would offer alot more flexabilty!

Lets face it, most folks who buy a C4F are pretty hard core OC'rs and have a decent grasp on what needs to be done....
I could be wrong, but from what I've seen it seems like "auto LLC" overvolts to the point where voltages go so high that it becomes more of a problem than an asset...

If you did it that way, you could set LLC over voltages pretty low (for the rookies) and still give the skilled folks another option to tweak...

Just a suggestion, but I've seen CPU LLC overvolt go higher than I feel comfortable with, and IMC LLC overvolt just gets so rediculous I don't dare even turn it on....

I've done some programing in the past, and this option seems like it would take alot less code than trying to have things "auto adjust" for everyones particular gear...

Just a suggestion, but I'd actually like to see than option!

    Come on UEFI motherboards =P

Do we have an ETA on C4F?

Agreeing with other people in the forums, I'm very angry in buying what is THE most expensive AMD gamer motherboard currently on the market and finding it under-performing worse than a standard < £100 motherboard. Not to mentioned failed bootups etc.

I certainly don't blame Bingo13 for any of this but I'm definitely angry with Asus, whom I have sworn by for the past 4 years (since god knows what happened to Abit, remember them?).

FYI Giga 890FX UD7 is even more expensive :p

CH IV underperforms ? Try HT clocks with a 1055T

For me the CH IV is one of the more balanced 890FX boards... Every 890FX board I tested has bugs. But the rate Asus updated their CH IV ROG bios is pretty great.

Question : Have you ever tried to persuade a Taiwanese bios engineer ? All I can say is that then you are in for a treat :p and zillions of mails to get it done
Question : Why do some overclockers switch into d*ckmode when money is involved

Remark : They call me Pro Asus Saaya yupp, I agree

Agreed. For 24/7 use with the 905 BIOS the board runs high HT, NB and HTT frequencies. 4200MHz is no problem and neither is 8GB of memory. People with major issues most likely need to be looking at something other then the BIOS as the problem.

Sounds about right in my experience too...and I'm on the beta of 0905. Unfortunately I'm still on a 965 BE though and haven't had a chance to install the Thuban sitting on my work bench. Sigh...so much to bench, so little time.

I will admit I'm also able to achieve great results with 8GB of ram. However I'm running with 16GB (which is in the advertised specification) and the system is completely unstable even at stock or reduced timings and speed. No over-clocking is possible at all, at stock, the system crashes after extended use as it becomes more unstable and 50% of the time it will take 2-3 boot attempts to start. I've confirmed the sticks are not faulty with a matched pair for each channel. They're 1600 but I'm currently running them at 1333 with a 1090T.

    M4A89GTD dual Nvidia cards

Hey Bingo13, thanks for the BIOS releases. It's really nice to get early access to board fixes and improvements.

There's one outstanding major issue with the 1602 BIOS. The board won't detect a secondary Nvidia GPU. I'm not referring to SLI, but it doesn't even show up in the device manager and prevents me from using all my monitors since I upgraded to the M4A89GTD. It seems to affect anyone with any combination of Nvidia cards. Is there any chance for a fix in the next BIOS?
