Would like to update my i5-655k.

I think I can lower some voltages however 1720 6-6-6-18 feels very nice

Same chip that got me to 6.8GHz back in March.
    http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/...d.php?t=246726

It's been collecting dust ever since. But I just started putting together a new SFX build and dusted it off to see what she could do with ambient cooling

This was done with the following:

    Gigabyte H55N-USB3 mini-itx FTW
    Intel Core i5 670 - L935B898 - 1.525V set in BIOS *LLC disabled* 1.472V at load
    2x1GB Crucial Ballistix DDR3-1600 CL8
    Corsair AX1200 (total overkill )
Water cooling with 21C ambient temp

Nice clocks. That's a tough looking jdm 280z on your desktop too.

thanks, supposedly this chip has done 5 ghz linx stable on a single stage, it was NCSpec's old chip, but I was really hoping for lower volts at 4.5 but either way it is a nice chip.

    Very nice!
Welcome to the new members, and thanks for your submissions, everyone! Good job!
New Linpack libraries for LinX are out, btw. They fix stress testing for Gulftown CPUs.
    Just reposting:

Here are the Digital Signatures on both xeon64.exe and xeon32.exe with the newest Linpack.

For those running the i7 980X with HT on, using the latest Linpack should result in higher and more sustained GFlops.

You can download the newest Linpack Library from here:

    http://software.intel.com/en-us/arti...pack-download/

Simply just copy xeon64.exe and xeon32.exe and replace the originals in your LinX/IntelBurn directories.
I also added a link to the updated LinX distributive (0.64 with the latest Linpack libraries) to the OP.

i've come to the conclusion that i don't think i can get LinX to be 20 pass stable with my system at or above 4.5ghz.

why? because i use 12gb of memory @ 1866 (1880 actual) at the moment... and i think it's becoming too much of a load on the IMC to go any faster. any time i do it'll error out left and right.

    but, at 4.3ghz / 1880mhz, LinX is doing 20 passes stable @ 81.7-82.1 Gflops w/ HTT enabled.

Nice run , the L935 chips seem to be the best clocking, my 660 is an L935 and clocks like a beast also.

I have a 655K which was terrible on LN2, but I'm going to give it a shot with this as well. We'll see how it goes

OC Nub still has you by a few mhz, regardless 4.8xx with memory clocked that high is crazy for such a small board

^ he was using HT, i had it disabled for 5ghz, my chip ran 4800 pretty easy on low vcore, i will try it again at 4900 when i get time, but after 4800 it gets a lot harder to pass.

Yeah noticed that with the duals. My i3 550 runs 4.85ghz with 2gb, 4.77ghz with 4gb and just over 4.6 with 8gb. That's KO stepping mind, my 530's were considerably worse with 8gb.

my 655k did great at 4500-4600 but any higher it scales horrible even with 2gb of ram. the 660 has been very good with 4gb up to 4800mhz, tried last night to go higher but is a real pita, linx stops early and says finnished without error but after only 2-3 loops. i will stop at 4800 4threads, that chip has done nothing other than run linx every time i nstall it for a couple months, it is retired now. would hate to kill a good chip.
